Target engineering and product roles first
UKG's Green Card sponsorship is concentrated in technical functions, software engineers, data scientists, and product managers. Focusing your search on these departments gives you the strongest chance of landing a role where Green Card support is part of the standard employment package.
Ask about sponsorship early in the process
During recruiter screens at UKG, ask directly whether the role is eligible for Green Card sponsorship. Technology companies often have formal policies by job category, so clarifying early saves time and confirms alignment before you invest in the full interview process.
Understand the PERM labor certification step
UKG's Green Card process typically begins with PERM, where the company advertises the role to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available. This process is employer-led, but understanding it helps you set realistic expectations and ask informed questions during negotiations.
Use platforms with verified sponsorship history
Not every UKG job listing will flag Green Card sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify UKG roles where immigration support has been offered to previous employees in similar positions.
Leverage your H-1B tenure when negotiating
If you're already on H-1B visa status at UKG or transferring from another employer, your existing work history in a specialty occupation strengthens your EB-2 or EB-3 case. Immigration attorneys at UKG can assess which category fits your background and experience level.
Align your role with EB-2 or EB-3 category requirements
UKG typically files Green Card petitions under EB-2 for roles requiring advanced degrees and EB-3 for positions requiring a bachelor's degree. Knowing which category applies to your role in UKG's HR technology or enterprise software business helps you prepare supporting documentation proactively.
UKG Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does UKG sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, UKG sponsors Green Card visas for eligible employees. The company supports permanent residence applications primarily for professionals in technical and specialized roles across its enterprise software and HR technology business. Sponsorship is typically offered after a period of employment and is initiated by the company through its internal immigration program.
Which roles and departments at UKG typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at UKG is most common in software engineering, data engineering, product management, and cloud infrastructure roles. These positions generally require specialized technical degrees and align with EB-2 or EB-3 category requirements. Corporate functions in finance and HR analytics may also qualify depending on the seniority and degree requirements of the specific role.
How does the Green Card application process work at UKG?
UKG typically manages the Green Card process through its immigration counsel. The standard path begins with PERM labor certification, where UKG conducts a supervised recruitment process to document that no qualified U.S. workers were available for the role. After PERM approval, UKG files an I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf, which establishes your priority date for a visa number.
How long does the Green Card process take at UKG?
The overall timeline depends on your nationality and which employment-based category applies to your role. PERM alone can take anywhere from several months to over a year. For applicants from high-demand countries, the wait for a visa number after I-140 approval can extend significantly due to annual per-country limits. Planning ahead and filing early is critical.
How do I find UKG jobs that offer Green Card sponsorship?
Not all UKG job postings explicitly state Green Card eligibility, which makes it hard to identify the right roles from listings alone. Migrate Mate aggregates verified sponsorship data so you can search UKG openings filtered by actual immigration support history, helping you focus your applications on positions where Green Card sponsorship has been part of the offer.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at UKG?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
