Job Roles at Villanova University
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Villanova University Green Card Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target faculty and research roles first
Villanova's Green Card sponsorships cluster around tenure-track faculty positions and research-intensive roles. Academic departments in science, engineering, business, and nursing are your strongest entry points for permanent residence consideration.
Raise Green Card early in the offer process
University HR departments move slowly on immigration commitments. Asking about permanent residence sponsorship during the offer negotiation stage, not after you start, gives you a clearer picture before you accept.
Verify Villanova's sponsorship history before applying
Not every open role leads to Green Card sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus on Villanova positions that have actually supported permanent residence filings.
Build your case around institutional need
PERM requires demonstrating that no qualified U.S. worker is available. In academia, a specialized research focus or unique language expertise strengthens that case. Documenting your niche early helps Villanova's legal team build a defensible petition.
Align with Villanova's strategic priorities
Villanova's mission in Augustinian Catholic higher education shapes which programs receive investment. Roles tied to growth areas, such as data science, healthcare education, and sustainability research, are more likely to receive long-term immigration support.

Does Villanova University sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Villanova University sponsors Green Card visas for eligible employees, primarily through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based categories. Sponsorship is most common for faculty, researchers, and specialized professional staff where the university has an ongoing need that cannot easily be filled by a U.S. worker.
Which roles and departments at Villanova University are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Tenure-track and tenured faculty positions across Villanova's colleges are the most consistent Green Card candidates, particularly in engineering, nursing, business, and the sciences. Research staff in grant-funded positions and highly specialized administrative roles may also qualify, though sponsorship decisions are made case by case.
How do I navigate the Green Card application process at Villanova University?
Villanova works with outside immigration counsel to manage Green Card filings. The process typically begins with PERM labor certification, which requires DOL approval before USCIS can adjudicate the I-140 immigrant petition. Your department and HR both need to be aligned before the process starts, so early conversations matter.
How long does the Green Card process take at Villanova University?
PERM labor certification alone takes six months to over a year depending on audit risk and DOL backlog. After PERM approval, I-140 adjudication adds additional time. For applicants from high-demand countries, visa priority date backlogs can extend the overall timeline by years. Starting the process as early as possible in your employment is strongly advised.
How do I find Green Card-eligible jobs at Villanova University?
Job listings rarely specify Green Card sponsorship directly, which makes it hard to know which openings will lead to permanent residence support. Migrate Mate aggregates verified sponsorship data so you can identify Villanova roles most likely to come with Green Card backing, saving you time and reducing uncertainty in your job search.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Villanova University?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
