How to Get Visa Sponsorship in District of Columbia Public Schools Visa Sponsorship USA
Target roles that align with DCPS's sponsored positions
DCPS most commonly sponsors teachers, specialists, and education support professionals. Focus your application on instructional roles or district-level positions in areas where qualified U.S. candidates are harder to source, such as special education or STEM subjects.
Understand DCPS's school-year hiring cycle
Public school districts hire on an academic calendar. Applications open heavily in spring for the following school year. Timing your outreach and applications between February and May significantly improves your chances of landing a sponsored position at DCPS.
