Align your credentials with PERM requirements
PERM labor certification requires your employer to prove no qualified U.S. worker is available for your role. Request a copy of the job description early and confirm your degree, field of study, and experience match the minimum requirements exactly, not just approximately.
Identify which EB pathway fits your background
Volkert typically files under EB-2 or EB-3 depending on the role's degree requirements. EB-2 requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability; EB-3 covers roles needing a bachelor's degree. Clarify with the hiring team which category your position qualifies for before accepting an offer.
Target roles with documented sponsorship history
Volkert's Green Card filings concentrate in technical disciplines like civil engineering, structural design, and environmental consulting. Focus your applications on those practice areas rather than corporate or administrative roles, which historically see fewer Green Card filings at consulting firms of this type.
Use Migrate Mate to verify Volkert's filing activity
Before investing months in an application process, search Volkert's DOL Labor Condition Application history on Migrate Mate. You can see which job titles and office locations have active sponsorship patterns, so you target roles where Green Card filings are a real part of the employment track.
Negotiate sponsorship timing before signing your offer
Consulting firms often require you to complete a minimum tenure before initiating PERM. Get written confirmation of when Volkert will start the Green Card process, what triggers that timeline, and who internally owns the filing. Verbal commitments during recruiting rarely survive manager turnover.
Benchmark your salary against prevailing wage before filing
PERM requires your offered wage to meet or exceed DOL prevailing wage for your occupation and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the wage level for your job title and metropolitan area before your employer submits the application, since a wage shortfall causes denial.
Volkert, Inc. Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Volkert, Inc. sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Volkert, Inc. sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees, primarily in engineering and infrastructure consulting roles. Sponsorship is typically initiated after a period of employment and is most common for technical positions in civil, structural, environmental, and project management disciplines rather than administrative or support functions.
Which roles at Volkert, Inc. typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Volkert concentrates in technically specialized roles such as civil engineers, structural engineers, environmental scientists, and construction project managers. Roles requiring a specific professional engineering background are the strongest candidates for EB-2 or EB-3 filings. General business and support roles are less commonly sponsored.
How does the Green Card application process work at Volkert, Inc.?
Volkert initiates the process by filing a PERM labor certification with DOL, which requires demonstrating that no qualified U.S. worker is available for your role. After PERM approval, Volkert files an immigrant petition with USCIS. You can check job title and location patterns in advance using Migrate Mate's employer sponsorship search.
How long does the Green Card process take when sponsored by Volkert, Inc.?
The timeline depends on your country of birth and the EB category your role qualifies for. PERM certification alone typically takes six to eighteen months. If you were born in a backlogged country such as India or China, EB-2 and EB-3 priority dates can add years beyond that before a visa number becomes available.
How do I improve my chances of getting Green Card sponsorship at Volkert, Inc.?
Position yourself in a technical discipline with demonstrated engineering credentials and, where applicable, a Professional Engineer license. Confirm the sponsorship timeline in writing before accepting your offer and verify that your offered salary meets DOL prevailing wage requirements for your specific occupation and office location using the OFLC Wage Search.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Volkert, Inc.?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
