We are currently hiring a Full-Time Landscape Equipment and Automotive Mechanic for our Raleigh branch and are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who want to build a long-term career with a growing company.
Pay can and will increase depending on experience
In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of equipment and vehicles, including automobiles, trucks, construction equipment, and landscape machinery. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and reliability of all equipment and vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on landscape equipment, including mowers and small engine equipment
- Diagnose and repair 2-cycle equipment (string trimmers, edgers, blowers)
- Perform routine automotive maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, brakes, fluid checks) on a variety of vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other components
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to efficiently identify and troubleshoot problems
- Conduct thorough inspections of equipment and vehicles to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns
- Perform welding as needed for equipment and repair work
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and hours worked
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient workflow
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries
- Stay current with industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices in equipment and automotive repair
Requirements
- Proven experience as an equipment or automotive mechanic, with a minimum of 2 years in the field.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and computerized controls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues.
- Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy parts and equipment, as well as dexterity to maneuver in tight spaces.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional weekends, especially during busy seasons or emergency situations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in automotive or diesel mechanics is preferred.
