Job Roles at ABB
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in ABB H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target engineering and automation roles
ABB's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in roles tied to industrial automation, power systems, and robotics engineering. Focusing your applications on these core business areas gives you the strongest chance of landing a sponsored position.
Apply well before the H-1B cap deadline
ABB must file H-1B petitions by the April 1 registration window. Starting your job search in late fall gives ABB's HR and legal teams enough lead time to initiate sponsorship before the annual deadline.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm sponsorship history
Not every ABB job listing mentions visa sponsorship upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus only on roles ABB has genuinely supported with H-1B filings.
Highlight specialized technical credentials
ABB's H-1B petitions typically support specialty occupation roles requiring field-specific degrees. Emphasizing certifications, advanced degrees, or domain expertise in manufacturing or power engineering strengthens your profile as a sponsorable candidate.
Clarify sponsorship intent early in interviews
ABB's hiring managers in manufacturing divisions are generally familiar with H-1B sponsorship, but immigration decisions involve HR and legal. Raising your visa status early in the process ensures the right stakeholders are looped in before an offer is extended.

Does ABB sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, ABB sponsors H-1B visas for qualified international workers in the United States. Sponsorship is most common in engineering, automation, and technology roles that require field-specific degrees. ABB has a consistent record of filing H-1B petitions and is a legitimate sponsoring employer for candidates in technical disciplines.
Which roles and departments at ABB are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at ABB is concentrated in roles tied to its core industrial businesses, including electrical and automation engineering, robotics, power systems, and software development. Positions requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field are most likely to qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at ABB?
Once ABB extends a job offer to an H-1B candidate, its internal HR team coordinates with immigration counsel to file the petition. You'll need to provide educational credentials, employment documentation, and work history. ABB handles the employer-side filing, but staying responsive and organized on your end helps keep the process on track.
How do I estimate the H-1B sponsorship timeline when applying to ABB?
The H-1B process follows a fixed annual calendar. USCIS opens registration in March, conducts the lottery, and allows petitions to be filed from April 1 for an October 1 start date. If you're already on OPT or another work-authorized status, ABB may be able to employ you continuously while the petition is pending through cap-gap protections.
How do I find verified H-1B jobs at ABB?
ABB posts openings across its own careers site and general job boards, but listings don't always specify whether sponsorship is available for a given role. Migrate Mate tracks verified H-1B sponsors and lets you filter for ABB roles backed by real filing history, so you can prioritize applications where sponsorship is genuinely on the table.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at ABB?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
