INTRODUCTION
The Test Platform team at Apple is on a mission to provide innovative infrastructure and tools that execute billions of tests for internal engineering teams across Apple. We’re excited to expand the remit of our team and add new intelligent capabilities in the areas of dynamic test scheduling and orchestration.
We are looking for an exceptional software engineer to bring their knowledge and real-world experience in areas like intelligent systems, test execution optimization, resource scheduling, cloud services, and build/test/integration systems to build solutions that will directly improve the quality and velocity of developing software across Apple.
We believe that every engineer brings unique skills and perspective. Far more than any specific experience or skill, we are looking for engineers who want to build great reliable software and services, learn and develop their skills, and ultimately enable others to develop amazing applications. You would join a small, tight-knit group of engineers who build exciting new technology, and have fun while doing so.
DESCRIPTION
Our team owns critical tools and services used by the internal Apple Engineering community every day to execute tests at scale in the cloud, with a North Star of greatly improving engineering velocity and productivity. You'll find ways to combine our unique problem domain with established techniques related to large-scale test execution, applying intelligence to how testing resources are allocated and consumed at scale - from intelligent test selection, to optimizing device utilization across testing workloads. You'll work alongside our team to ensure Apple's engineering teams can get faster, more reliable feedback on their changes, enabling them to develop amazing applications and deliver the highest quality software.
You'll analyze requirements, constraints, and existing foundational elements to inform high-level architectural solutions that achieve high performance at scale, reliability, and long-term maintainability. You'll combine creative problem solving with data-driven approaches to continuously identify opportunities to make test execution smarter, more efficient, and improve overall testing throughput. Once solutions are identified, you will collaborate closely with the team to implement them while developing appropriate testing and operational mechanisms.
You will be most successful here as a flexible and proactive engineer who thrives in a supportive, respectful, and balanced work environment with interesting and challenging problems to tackle. You have excellent judgment and integrity with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. You know how to drive constructive discussion of design points, learn from your team, and use your experience to advocate and teach others.
In your role as an engineer on our team you will:
- Spend a majority of your time working to build tools and services that improve developer productivity and contributing to operational and engineering standards used across the organization.
- Apply intelligent and data-driven approaches, leveraging signals such as code coverage and semantic analysis of code changes, to drive smarter test selection and optimize how devices are leveraged for testing at scale.
- Collaborate with your teammates to help refine problem requirements and work with teams to implement long-lasting solutions.
- Engage with other teams to help identify issues and establish long term relationships that include knowledge sharing.
- Provide valuable feedback loops to engineering teams backed by application metrics and log data.
- Drive areas of service scalability (resiliency, redundancy, performance) by collaborating in planning meetings.
- Develop expertise and be given ownership over components critical to Apple's success.
- Contribute to engineering high-performance systems through algorithm design, optimization, and performance testing.
- Design new ways to scale Apple's distributed developer tools and services to ever-increasing problem sizes.
- Have access to the engineers who create Apple's full technology, tools, and operating systems stack.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Strong programming skills (preferably Swift or a similar language).
- Experience building, deploying, or maintaining developer tools, production web services, or CI/CD infrastructure.
- Experience with different testing types and approaches.
- Positive and respectful attitude in a diverse environment.
- Experience owning features from conception to release and troubleshooting production issues.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong interest in tools and systems that support developing, building, testing, and releasing software.
- Experience applying data-driven or intelligent techniques to scheduling, resource management, or optimization problems.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and experience applying them to real-world engineering problems.

How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Apple H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target Apple's core engineering and hardware teams
Apple's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in software engineering, silicon design, and hardware development. Focusing your search on these areas gives you the strongest chance of landing a role where sponsorship is an established part of the hiring process.
Apply directly through Apple's careers portal
Apple manages H-1B sponsorship through its in-house immigration team. Applying directly at jobs.apple.com ensures your application reaches the hiring pipeline where sponsorship decisions are made, rather than through third-party channels that may not surface visa-eligible postings.
Highlight specialized, hard-to-source skills
H-1B sponsorship at Apple is most straightforward when a candidate brings skills in niche areas like custom silicon, computational photography, or on-device machine learning. Employers file H-1B petitions when they cannot easily find the same expertise domestically.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm Apple's sponsorship history
Before applying, verify Apple's H-1B track record for specific roles. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your effort on positions where sponsorship is genuinely on the table.
Prepare for Apple's structured technical interview process
Apple's engineering interviews are rigorous and multi-stage. Strong performance signals that you're worth the additional investment of H-1B sponsorship, so arriving fully prepared for system design, coding, and domain-specific rounds matters more here than at most companies.
Align your timeline with H-1B filing windows
H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date. Timing your application process with Apple so you receive an offer well before April gives the company enough runway to prepare and file your petition without complications.

Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas and is one of the most active H-1B sponsors in the United States. Sponsorship is concentrated in technical roles across software engineering, hardware, silicon design, and machine learning, though Apple also sponsors H-1B petitions for roles in product management and other specialized functions.
Which departments at Apple are most likely to offer H-1B sponsorship?
Software engineering, hardware engineering, and machine learning research are the departments with the highest H-1B sponsorship activity at Apple. Roles tied to Apple Silicon development, operating systems, and platform technologies are particularly common. Product design and specialized research positions also see consistent H-1B filings, though volume is lower than in core engineering.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Apple?
Once Apple extends you an offer, their in-house immigration team coordinates directly with an outside immigration attorney to prepare your H-1B petition. You'll provide educational credentials, employment documentation, and a detailed job description supporting the specialty occupation classification. Apple handles the filing logistics, but you should respond promptly to any documentation requests to avoid delays ahead of the April filing deadline.
How do I find H-1B sponsorship jobs at Apple on Migrate Mate?
Migrate Mate lists verified H-1B sponsor companies including Apple, so you can filter open roles by sponsorship history rather than guessing from job descriptions. Search for Apple on Migrate Mate to see current openings tied to confirmed H-1B sponsorship activity, which saves significant time compared to manually cross-referencing job boards with government filing data.
What is the H-1B timeline I should expect if Apple sponsors me?
If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, Apple must file your petition during the April registration and lottery window, with employment authorized from October 1 at the earliest. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, Apple can file a transfer petition at any point in the year and you can begin work as soon as the petition is received by USCIS.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Apple?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
