INTRODUCTION
Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. We are more than 36,000 people, in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.
Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Graphic Designer to support one of the most iconic and consequential infrastructure initiatives in the United States — the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). We are working in partnership with Parsons and Mace as part of the MPA Delivery Partner team, selected by the Gateway Development Commission to deliver this transformative project. The HTP is a critical component of the broader Gateway Program — one of the most ambitious and impactful transportation initiatives in the nation — and is designed to strengthen mobility, enhance resiliency, and ensure the long-term reliability of the Northeast Corridor.
The project encompasses the construction of a new, two-track rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River, along with the full rehabilitation of the existing 113-year-old North River Tunnel. This vital infrastructure supports more than 200,000 daily passengers via Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT and serves as a backbone for economic activity and connectivity between New York and New Jersey.
This is more than just a job — it’s a once-in-a-generation opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant infrastructure program that will reshape rail transportation, drive sustainable economic growth, and improve regional accessibility for millions. As part of this high-performing, multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver excellence on one of the most technically complex and high-profile projects in the world.
If you're seeking to make a meaningful, lasting impact — while advancing your career alongside some of the best minds in the industry — this is your moment.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Arcadis is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to join our team in the New York / New Jersey area. In this role, you will lead the creation of visually compelling designs that communicate key information about work across multiple platforms. Will work closely with the Public Affairs team and members of other departments to produce both static and motion graphics to support public-facing communication. The ideal candidate turns complex ideas into intuitive, beautiful designs (infographics, fact sheets, social/social media graphics, presentations, website, short animations), ensuring consistency, quality, and creativity in every deliverable.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Design, develop, and deliver static visual content: fact sheets, infographics, printed collateral, reports, presentation decks, social media assets, and other assets as needed.
- Create motion graphics and simple animations/video content (e.g. animated infographics, GIFs, short motion spots).
- Translate data, research findings, and strategy into accessible, engaging visual narratives.
- Work cross-functionally with public affairs, procurement, program delivery, and other teams to understand goals, audiences, and messaging.
- Lead creative concepting sessions; propose visual solutions that align with campaign objectives, brand, and voice.
- Plan, execute, and manage design projects from idea through production: set timelines, handle feedback loops, ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain and evolve brand guidelines and ensure all outputs adhere to visual identity, tone, accessibility, and usability standards.
- Review and proof graphic deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and quality across all platforms.
- Stay current with design trends, motion graphics, software tools, accessibility standards, and emerging formats.
- Provide design guidance and feedback to freelancers as needed.
- Research, recommend, and help to introduce new tools, processes, or practices that enhance design workflows and output quality.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, fine arts, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in graphic design in a communications, agency, nonprofit, or related setting.
- Strong portfolio with examples of both static and motion design: infographics, fact sheets, report design, social media work, simple animation or video/motion graphics.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Experience in motion graphics/video tools (After Effects, Premiere Pro, or similar).
KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Familiarity with design for web/digital, including social media dimensions, responsive layouts, exporting for different platforms.
- Comfort with prototyping or simple animation tools; ability to work with motion templates.
- Strong visual thinking: ability to conceptualize and distill complex content into clear graphics.
- Excellent communication skills: can present design concepts, accept feedback, and articulate design rationale.
- Comfortable multitasking: managing multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, especially in maintaining brand consistency, accuracy of information, and visual polish.
- Team player: collaborative, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Experience or interest in UX/UI basics, video storytelling, or motion graphics beyond simple animation is a plus.

Job Roles at Arcadis
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Arcadis H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target roles that align with Arcadis's core service lines
Arcadis focuses on infrastructure, water, environment, and buildings consulting. H-1B sponsorship is most common for technical roles in these areas. Prioritize applying to positions where your specialty directly supports an active Arcadis practice.
Confirm sponsorship willingness early in the process
Consulting firms sometimes make sponsorship decisions role by role. When you reach the recruiter screen, ask directly whether the position is open to H-1B candidates before investing time in multiple interview rounds.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified Arcadis openings
Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history. Searching Arcadis specifically helps you identify which roles are actively seeking visa-eligible candidates rather than guessing from generic job listings.
Understand the H-1B lottery timeline before applying
Arcadis typically needs to initiate your H-1B petition before the April filing window. Aligning your job search and offer timeline with the USCIS registration period in March significantly improves your chances of starting on time.
Highlight specialized credentials relevant to consulting projects
Arcadis operates at the intersection of engineering and advisory services. Professional engineer licensure, domain certifications, or advanced degrees strengthen your H-1B specialty occupation case and make sponsorship a more straightforward decision for the hiring team.
Engage with Arcadis's campus and professional recruiting programs
Arcadis participates in graduate-level recruiting and regularly hires from F-1 OPT pipelines. If you're already on OPT, this is a natural entry point before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship with an employer already familiar with your work.

Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an established history of filing H-1B petitions for technical and consulting professionals across its U.S. operations. Sponsorship is most common for roles in engineering, environmental consulting, and project management, though availability varies by business unit and specific position.
Which roles and departments at Arcadis are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Arcadis is concentrated in technical disciplines that underpin its consulting work, including civil and environmental engineering, water resources, geotechnical services, and data analytics. Corporate and support functions are less commonly sponsored. Roles requiring specialized degree-level expertise in a defined field are the strongest candidates for sponsorship approval.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Arcadis?
Once Arcadis extends an offer to an H-1B candidate, the company works with outside immigration counsel to file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor and then the H-1B petition with USCIS. As the applicant, you provide employment history, degree credentials, and supporting documentation. Your role is largely responsive, but staying organized and responsive to document requests keeps the process on track.
How do I find H-1B-eligible job openings at Arcadis?
Arcadis posts open positions on its careers page, but not all listings indicate whether H-1B sponsorship is available. Migrate Mate filters job opportunities by verified sponsorship history, making it easier to identify Arcadis roles where international candidates have a realistic path to H-1B support without cold-applying to positions that may not accommodate visa requirements.
What timeline should I expect for H-1B sponsorship at Arcadis?
The H-1B process is tied to the federal lottery cycle. USCIS opens electronic registration in March, with selected petitions filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer from Arcadis after April, you would typically begin on OPT or another interim status and transition to H-1B status in the following cap year, roughly 12 months later.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Arcadis?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
