How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Arizona State University H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target faculty and research postings first
ASU's strongest H-1B sponsorship activity centers on faculty positions, postdoctoral researchers, and research scientists. Prioritizing these role types gives you the best chance of finding an opening where sponsorship is already expected and budgeted.
Understand ASU's internal HR process
Large universities like ASU process H-1B petitions through a dedicated international scholar services office. Identifying this team early and confirming they handle H-1B filings helps you set realistic expectations before accepting any offer.
Apply well ahead of the H-1B cap deadline
ASU must submit H-1B petitions before the April 1 USCIS filing window. For cap-subject roles, aim to have an offer finalized by February so the university has adequate time to prepare your petition documentation.
Highlight specialized expertise in your application
H-1B eligibility at universities depends on demonstrating a specialty occupation. Clearly connecting your degree field to the specific role you're applying for strengthens both the hiring case and the eventual USCIS petition ASU would file.
Search verified sponsorship histories before applying
Knowing which institutions have a consistent H-1B track record saves time. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your applications on employers like ASU that actively file.
Engage ASU's international office during the offer stage
Once you receive a conditional offer, ask the hiring department to connect you with ASU's international scholar or immigration services office. Early engagement reduces delays and confirms the university can support your specific visa situation.

Does Arizona State University sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Arizona State University sponsors H-1B visas. As a large research university, ASU regularly supports H-1B petitions for faculty, researchers, and specialized professional staff. Sponsorship is typically handled through ASU's international scholar services office, which coordinates directly with the hiring department and outside immigration counsel to prepare and file petitions with USCIS.
Which roles and departments at Arizona State University are most likely to offer H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at ASU is most common in tenure-track and non-tenure-track faculty positions, postdoctoral research roles, and specialized staff positions in areas like engineering, computer science, life sciences, and business. Administrative and operational roles occasionally qualify, but academic and research appointments represent the clearest pathway to sponsorship at most large universities.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Arizona State University?
After receiving a job offer, ASU's international scholar services office initiates the H-1B process on your behalf. They coordinate the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor, prepare the Form I-129 petition, and submit it to USCIS. Your role is to provide supporting documentation, including degree credentials and any prior immigration records, promptly when requested.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at Arizona State University?
Standard H-1B processing with USCIS currently takes several months from filing. For cap-subject petitions, ASU must file during the April window, with an October 1 start date. Premium processing, which expedites USCIS review to 15 business days, is available and sometimes used by universities when a faster decision is needed for a specific hire.
What practical steps should I take when pursuing H-1B sponsorship at Arizona State University?
Start by identifying ASU roles in research, faculty, or specialized professional functions where H-1B sponsorship is standard. Migrate Mate can help you find verified H-1B sponsors and confirm ASU's sponsorship history before you invest time applying. Once you have an offer, engage ASU's international scholar services office early, keep your degree transcripts ready, and build in time for the full LCA and USCIS filing cycle.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Arizona State University?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
