Job Roles at Bloomberg
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Bloomberg H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target Bloomberg's core technical teams
Bloomberg's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in software engineering, data infrastructure, and financial technology roles. Focus your application on these departments, where international hiring is most consistent and H-1B petition experience runs deepest.
Apply well before the H-1B lottery window
Bloomberg typically initiates H-1B petitions ahead of the April lottery deadline. Start your job search early in the calendar year so any offer and internal paperwork can be completed before USCIS registration opens in March.
Use verified sponsorship data to find open roles
Not every Bloomberg job listing signals H-1B willingness upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you prioritize Bloomberg roles where H-1B support is confirmed.
Clarify sponsorship intent during early interviews
Bloomberg's recruiting teams are experienced with H-1B. Raise your visa status early in the process rather than at offer stage. Recruiters familiar with H-1B can route your candidacy appropriately and avoid late-stage complications with hiring managers.
Demonstrate deep technical specialization
Bloomberg's H-1B roles routinely require highly specialized skills in areas like distributed systems, quantitative finance, or real-time data processing. A strong portfolio or demonstrated expertise in Bloomberg's core technology domain strengthens both your hire and petition prospects.
Understand that Bloomberg handles petitions internally
Bloomberg uses in-house immigration counsel and established legal processes for H-1B petitions. Once an offer is extended, expect a structured onboarding process for visa documentation rather than relying on a third-party law firm you arrange yourself.

Does Bloomberg sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Bloomberg sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles across its technology and software divisions. The company has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions for international employees and maintains internal immigration resources to manage the process. Sponsorship is most common in engineering, data, and product-focused positions.
Which roles and departments at Bloomberg typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
Bloomberg's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in software engineering, data infrastructure, financial technology, and quantitative research roles. These positions align well with the specialty occupation standard H-1B requires. Corporate functions like finance, legal, or sales occasionally qualify, but the clearest sponsorship track runs through Bloomberg's technical teams.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Bloomberg?
Once Bloomberg extends an offer to an H-1B candidate, its in-house immigration team takes over petition preparation. You'll provide employment verification documents, educational credentials, and personal immigration history. Bloomberg files the petition with USCIS on your behalf, covering required employer fees. The process is managed internally, so you won't need to coordinate outside counsel.
How do I set realistic timeline expectations for H-1B sponsorship at Bloomberg?
The H-1B lottery runs once annually, with registration in March and an October 1 start date if selected. Bloomberg typically needs several weeks to prepare petition materials after an offer is finalized. If you're starting a job search, factor in that a cap-subject H-1B sponsored today may not authorize work for months. Cap-exempt situations, like extensions for existing H-1B holders, move faster.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Bloomberg that are open to visa sponsorship?
Bloomberg posts roles across its careers site, but listings rarely specify H-1B eligibility upfront. Migrate Mate aggregates verified H-1B sponsor data, so you can confirm Bloomberg's sponsorship track record and identify active openings in the same search. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to roles where sponsorship is uncertain, especially useful if you're on a tight visa timeline.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Bloomberg?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
