Align your degree to Capgemini's specialty occupation roles
Capgemini's H-1B petitions concentrate in software engineering, data science, and cloud consulting. Before applying, confirm your degree field directly matches the role title. A computer science degree supporting a DevOps engineer role is clean; a business degree for the same role invites an RFE.
Target delivery and practice-area teams directly
Capgemini organizes hiring through vertical practice areas like cloud, cybersecurity, and data analytics. Applying through these teams rather than a general portal increases your odds of landing with a manager who routinely handles H-1B paperwork and understands the filing timeline.
Verify the prevailing wage before your offer stage
Capgemini files Labor Condition Applications with DOL before your H-1B petition can proceed. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the prevailing wage for your job title and work location. If your offer falls below that threshold, the LCA will not certify and the petition stalls.
Confirm H-1B transfer eligibility if you're already sponsored
If you hold an active H-1B with another employer, Capgemini can file a transfer petition without waiting for the annual lottery. You're eligible to start working once USCIS receives the petition, not after approval, provided you maintain valid status throughout the transition.
Use Migrate Mate to find Capgemini's verified H-1B filing history
Before your interview, pull Capgemini's LCA filing history by job title and location on Migrate Mate. Seeing which specific roles and offices have active filings tells you where sponsorship is happening in practice, not just what the careers page says.
Prepare your I-94 and status documents before the offer letter
Capgemini's HR team will need your current status documentation as soon as an offer is extended. Have your most recent I-94 record, current visa stamp, and any OPT or EAD documentation ready so the immigration team can begin the H-1B filing assessment without delays.
Capgemini H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Capgemini sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Capgemini sponsors H-1B visas and has done so consistently across its U.S. operations. The company works with immigration counsel to file petitions for qualifying roles in technology consulting, software engineering, data analytics, and related fields. Capgemini is widely recognized as one of the more active H-1B sponsors in the consulting sector.
Which roles and departments at Capgemini typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Capgemini is concentrated in technical delivery roles: software engineers, data scientists, cloud architects, SAP consultants, and cybersecurity analysts. Practice-area teams tied to specific client engagements are the most active. Non-technical roles in sales, account management, or general HR are rarely sponsored because they don't meet the specialty occupation definition USCIS requires.
How do I start the H-1B application process at Capgemini?
The process begins after you receive a formal offer. Capgemini's HR team coordinates with its immigration attorneys to file a Labor Condition Application with DOL, then submits the H-1B petition to USCIS. If you're a new entrant, your petition must go through the annual lottery in March. If you already hold H-1B status, a transfer petition can proceed outside the lottery.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at Capgemini?
Timeline depends on your situation. For lottery-selected candidates, USCIS begins adjudicating petitions after April 1, with employment authorized from October 1 of that fiscal year. Standard processing can run several months; premium processing through USCIS delivers a decision within 15 business days for an additional fee. Capgemini's immigration team will advise which route applies to your case.
How do I find open H-1B jobs at Capgemini?
Search Capgemini's careers site filtered by U.S. locations and technical disciplines. To go deeper, use Migrate Mate to review Capgemini's actual LCA filing history by job title and work location, which shows you where H-1B sponsorship is actively happening rather than relying solely on job postings. Targeting roles with a filing history in your specialty improves your chances considerably.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Capgemini?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
