How to Get Visa Sponsorship in HP H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target HP's core technical disciplines
HP's H-1B sponsorship concentrates in hardware engineering, firmware development, software engineering, and R&D. Applying to roles in these areas gives you the strongest chance of landing a position that qualifies for H-1B sponsorship.
Verify sponsorship history before applying
Not every HP job listing explicitly states visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and confirm HP is actively filing H-1B petitions for the role type you're targeting.
Align your degree field to the specific role
H-1B approval requires a direct connection between your degree and the job. At HP, this means a computer science, electrical engineering, or related technical degree should clearly map to the position description in your application materials.
Highlight specialized technical contributions in your resume
HP's H-1B petitions need to demonstrate specialty occupation. Framing your resume around specialized skills, such as ASIC design, cloud architecture, or embedded systems, gives HP's immigration counsel stronger grounds to build your petition.

Does HP sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, HP sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles across its engineering, software, and research divisions. The company has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions and maintains internal immigration support processes. Sponsorship is most common in technical specialty occupation roles where a specific degree is required for the position.
Which roles and departments at HP typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
HP's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in software engineering, hardware engineering, firmware development, data science, and R&D. Roles in product design and technical program management also see sponsorship where the position requires a directly related bachelor's degree or higher. General business and operations roles are less commonly sponsored.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at HP?
Once HP extends an offer, their internal immigration team or an outside counsel firm manages the H-1B petition. You'll provide academic credentials, employment verification, and personal immigration history. HP files the petition with USCIS, typically starting with the annual registration lottery in March. Stay in close contact with HP's HR team to track deadlines.
How do I find HP H-1B jobs that confirm visa sponsorship?
HP's careers page lists open roles but doesn't always flag sponsorship eligibility clearly. Migrate Mate compiles verified H-1B sponsor data so you can search HP's active listings with confidence that sponsorship is part of the offer. Filtering by confirmed sponsors saves time and reduces the risk of pursuing roles where sponsorship isn't available.
What timeline should I expect for H-1B sponsorship at HP?
The H-1B process at HP follows USCIS's annual cycle. Registration opens in March, lottery results come in late March or early April, and approved petitions can take several months to adjudicate. If you're on OPT, HP will typically structure your start date and cap-gap status to bridge the gap. Plan for a six to twelve month runway from offer to H-1B approval.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at HP?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
