ABOUT NEN CREATIVE
Nen Creative partners with tech startups to launch bold ideas into the world, creating the brands, products, and stories that fuel their growth.
Since 2022, we’ve partnered with some of the world’s top founders and institutions, including Amazon, Pear VC, Crosby, Andreessen Horowitz, Wispr Flow, Rogo, Mercor, Rox, Netic, Listen Labs, Tech Week, Paraform, Spur, Flora, and more.
We’re growing fast and looking for great people to join us.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re looking for a strong, technically sharp cinematographer to join our team in the Bay Area.
This role is for someone who deeply cares about the craft of cinematography, not just making an image “look good,” but understanding why it works. You should be comfortable owning camera, lighting, and grip setups across a wide range of productions, from scrappy founder interviews to polished commercials and brand films.
You’ll work closely with our directors, producers, and creative team to shape the visual approach for each project, execute on set, and help manage footage through post-production, including DaVinci Resolve project setup, color grading, and final exports when needed.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving agency environment. We need someone who is highly capable on set, adaptable, detail-obsessed, and willing to push the image as far as possible within real-world constraints.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with directors and producers to develop the visual approach for each project and execute it on set
- Own / capable of owning camera, lighting, and grip setup across a range of productions: commercials, brand films, talking heads, interviews, and more
- Work within real-world budget constraints, get creative with what’s available, know where to spend and where to save, and deliver results that punch above their weight
- Offload footage, build DaVinci Resolve projects with correct settings, and keep projects organized from shoot through post
- Color grade projects and handle final exports from raw footage as needed
- Adapt to our workflow and pipeline, while helping improve it over time
- Wear different hats from project to project, depending on the needs of the production
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Willing to relocate to the Bay Area and work on set in the SF area 3–4 days per week
- Strong technical foundation in camera systems, lighting, and grip
- Genuine passion for the craft of cinematography. You care about the things most people don’t notice: how exposure index shifts dynamic range latitude, why one lens renders bokeh differently than another, how different coatings change the character of an image, and what gives a particular set of glass its falloff
- Relentless attention to detail and high standards on every setup
- A make-it-work mentality within real-world budgets and constraints
- Equal care for talking heads, interviews, commercials, and brand films
- Willingness to adapt to our creative taste, quality standard, and production workflow
- Color grading and editing experience in DaVinci Resolve
- Prior cinematography experience required
- Comfortable with agency timelines, shifting production needs, occasional travel, and occasional weekend or after-hours production work
- Must have a car
WHY JOIN NEN
- Be part of a small, fast-growing creative studio trusted by world-class startups and investors
- Work directly with partners and creative leadership on high-impact, visible projects
- Help define and scale the post-production quality bar at Nen
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), PTO, and company holidays
- Salary range: $80,000 to $120,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Target roles that align with specialty occupation standards
H-1B approval requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation. At Nen Creative, focus on roles in consulting, strategy, or creative services that explicitly require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field.
Confirm sponsorship intent before applying
Not every open role at Nen Creative will come with H-1B sponsorship. Before investing time in an application, verify the listing specifies visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history.
Emphasize consulting-specific credentials in your application
Nen Creative operates in professional services, where demonstrated expertise carries significant weight. Highlight client-facing experience, industry certifications, and specialized knowledge that directly maps to the consulting role you're targeting.
Understand the H-1B cap and timing implications
Most H-1B petitions are subject to the annual lottery, with employment starting October 1. Engage with Nen Creative's recruitment team early enough to align your timeline with USCIS registration windows in March.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation in advance
For H-1B sponsorship in consulting roles, your educational background must satisfy specialty occupation criteria. If your degree is from outside the U.S., obtain a credential evaluation early to avoid delays in the petition process.
Communicate your visa status clearly and professionally
Consulting firms like Nen Creative evaluate sponsorship costs as part of hiring decisions. Being upfront about your current status, authorization timeline, and familiarity with the H-1B process signals professionalism and reduces friction for the employer.
Nen Creative H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Nen Creative sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Nen Creative sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles in its consulting and professional services operations. Sponsorship is not offered for every open position, so candidates should confirm visa support is listed in the job posting or raised directly with the recruiting team before applying.
Which roles at Nen Creative are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Nen Creative is most commonly associated with specialized consulting, creative strategy, and professional services roles that require a degree in a specific field. Positions with clearly defined technical or disciplinary requirements are stronger candidates for specialty occupation classification than generalist roles.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Nen Creative?
Once Nen Creative agrees to sponsor you, the company works with an immigration attorney to file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor, followed by the H-1B petition with USCIS. Your role is to provide documentation of your qualifications and degree. The employer handles filing fees and submission.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing H-1B sponsorship at Nen Creative?
Cap-subject H-1B petitions follow a fixed annual cycle. USCIS opens registration in March, conducts a lottery selection, and approved petitions take effect October 1. You should be in active conversations with Nen Creative's hiring team by early in the year to leave enough room for internal approvals and petition preparation.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Nen Creative as an international candidate?
Start by identifying open roles that explicitly mention visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate tracks verified H-1B sponsors and lets you search by company, role type, and sponsorship history, which makes it easier to target Nen Creative positions where international candidates have a realistic path. Pair that with direct outreach to their recruiting contacts.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Nen Creative?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
