SUMMARY
The TOA, CTE Counselor Facilitator supports the implementation, improvement, and equitable access of high-quality Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs across the district. This role ensures that counseling services, ECAP development, and career-connected learning experiences directly align with CTE pathway expectations, Perkins V requirements, and labor market demand. This position will work collaboratively with campus counselors, CTE teachers, administrators, and industry and post-secondary partners to strengthen student preparation, transition, and success in CTE programs of study, work-based learning, and post-secondary opportunities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinates and aligns career exploration and career development activities with CTE programs of study, ensuring all students, especially special populations, receive equitable access to high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand career pathways.
- Leads and monitors the district-wide ECAP process to ensure students develop and annually update actionable college and career plans, including alignment to CTE pathways, credentials of value, and industry-recognized certifications.
- Designs, delivers, and evaluates professional development for counselors and CTE teachers that supports implementation of CTE standards, integration of academic and technical skills, labor market awareness, special population supports, and college/career readiness best practices.
- Collaborates with CTE teachers and counselors to develop ECAP-aligned lesson plans that connect career assessment results to CTE programs of study, work-based learning opportunities, and post-secondary options such as dual enrollment and internships.
- Maintains and curates updated CTE and career development resources, including labor market information, online assessments, and exploration tools that support informed student decision making and pathway selection.
- Supports Perkins V data and accountability requirements, including accurate identification and reporting of special populations, documentation of required services, and use of data for continuous improvement.
- Promotes CTE access and awareness by communicating pathway opportunities, industry certifications, CTSO engagement, and work-based learning experiences to students, families, and community partners.
- Coordinates and monitors the annual CTE Placement Follow-Up Survey for concentrators, graduates, and withdrawals, ensuring full compliance with Arizona Department of Education timelines and documentation requirements.
- Assists with transcript review and program completion verification for CTE concentrators, adult learners, and transfer students to ensure appropriate recognition of CTE coursework, work-based learning, and industry credentials.
- Supports campus-level CTE teams in identifying and removing barriers to participation, particularly for special populations, to ensure equitable access to CTE pathways, work-based learning experiences, and CTSO activities.
