Target permanent placement roles over contract work
Robert Half operates both staffing and permanent placement divisions. H-1B sponsorship is far more likely through its permanent placement arm, where direct-hire roles come with the employer commitment required to support a multi-year visa petition.
Align your background with their highest-demand specializations
Robert Half consistently fills roles in finance, accounting, technology, and legal support. Candidates whose skills map directly to these practice areas are better positioned to secure sponsorship, since those teams have the most established hiring pipelines and recurring H-1B needs.
Engage their specialized recruiters early in your search
Robert Half operates through practice-specific recruiters rather than generalist hiring managers. Reaching out directly to a recruiter in your field, such as finance or technology, signals seriousness and gets your profile in front of the decision-makers who control sponsorship conversations.
Ask about H-1B sponsorship before accepting an interview
Sponsorship policies can vary by business unit and role level at large staffing firms. Confirming H-1B eligibility upfront saves time for both sides and ensures you're only investing effort in opportunities where sponsorship is genuinely on the table.
Use verified sponsor data to identify real opportunities
Not every Robert Half posting leads to H-1B sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus on roles where sponsorship is confirmed rather than assumed.
Understand the timing constraints of H-1B at a staffing firm
Consulting and professional services firms must align H-1B petitions with annual cap deadlines and client placement timelines. Starting conversations with Robert Half recruiters well before the April filing window gives both parties time to build a compliant petition.
Robert Half H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Robert Half sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Robert Half sponsors H-1B visas for qualified candidates placed in permanent roles across its finance, accounting, technology, and legal support divisions. Sponsorship is not universal across all positions, so candidates should confirm with their assigned recruiter early in the process whether a specific role includes H-1B support.
Which roles and departments at Robert Half typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Robert Half is most commonly associated with specialty occupation roles in finance and accounting, information technology, and legal and administrative support. These practice areas require degree-specific qualifications that meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard, making them the strongest candidates for sponsorship compared to general staffing placements.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process through Robert Half?
Once a permanent placement offer is confirmed, Robert Half works with immigration counsel to prepare and file the H-1B petition on your behalf. The process involves a Labor Condition Application filed with the Department of Labor, followed by the I-129 petition to USCIS. Your recruiter coordinates the timeline, but understanding each step helps you respond quickly when documentation is requested.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at Robert Half?
The standard H-1B process runs from the April filing window through an October 1 start date for cap-subject cases, meaning the full cycle can take six months or more. Premium processing is available to reduce USCIS adjudication time to a matter of weeks, though the cap registration and lottery still follow the standard annual calendar regardless of processing speed.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Robert Half that are open to sponsorship?
Identifying which Robert Half postings genuinely support H-1B sponsorship requires more than reading job descriptions. Migrate Mate aggregates verified sponsorship data so you can search Robert Half roles with confidence that sponsorship history backs the listing. Combining that with direct outreach to a practice-specific Robert Half recruiter gives you the clearest picture of where sponsorship is realistic.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Robert Half?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
