Job Roles at SGS
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in SGS H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target technical and regulatory roles
SGS's H-1B sponsorship concentrates in roles requiring specialized credentials, such as quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and laboratory science. Focusing your application on these functions improves your chances of landing a position with sponsorship attached.
Confirm sponsorship before applying
Not every SGS job listing explicitly states H-1B sponsorship availability. Contact the recruiter early to confirm whether the specific role qualifies. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history before investing time in an application.
Align your background with medical device compliance
SGS's medical device work involves FDA regulatory submissions, ISO standards, and clinical testing. Candidates who can demonstrate hands-on experience with these frameworks are more likely to be considered for roles where SGS will support the H-1B petition process.
Engage SGS recruiters before the H-1B lottery
Because H-1B registrations must be submitted in March for an October start date, beginning conversations with SGS hiring teams in the fall or winter gives both parties enough runway to prepare the petition if you receive a lottery selection.
Prepare documentation that supports specialty occupation
USCIS requires that the offered role qualifies as a specialty occupation. For SGS positions in medical devices, gather degree transcripts, professional certifications, and a detailed offer letter describing duties that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field.
Research SGS's sponsorship track record by location
SGS operates labs and offices across multiple U.S. states, and sponsorship activity can vary by location. Reviewing filings by SGS facility helps you identify where H-1B sponsorship is more common, so you can prioritize those openings in your job search.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does SGS sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, SGS sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles, particularly in technical, scientific, and regulatory functions tied to its medical device and inspection services. Sponsorship is not offered across all positions, so confirming with the recruiter at the start of the process is the most reliable approach.
Which roles and departments at SGS typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at SGS is most common in roles requiring specialized degrees, including regulatory affairs specialists, quality engineers, laboratory scientists, and medical device compliance consultants. Positions in general operations or sales are less likely to meet the specialty occupation threshold USCIS requires for H-1B approval.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at SGS?
Once SGS extends an offer, their legal or HR team typically works with an immigration attorney to file the H-1B registration during the annual March lottery window. If selected, the full petition is filed by June 30 for an October 1 start date. Your role is to provide academic credentials, work history, and any supporting documentation the attorney requests.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at SGS?
The timeline depends on the lottery and USCIS processing. Registration opens in March, selection results come in late March or April, and the petition must be filed by late June for an October 1 start. Standard USCIS adjudication takes three to six months, though premium processing can reduce that to around 15 business days for an additional fee.
How do I find open H-1B jobs at SGS?
Start by searching SGS's careers page directly, filtering for roles in regulatory affairs, quality, and laboratory sciences. Migrate Mate is also a useful resource, as it aggregates verified H-1B sponsors and lets you filter specifically for SGS openings where sponsorship has historically been offered, saving time you would otherwise spend vetting each listing manually.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at SGS?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
