Job Roles at Spotify
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Spotify H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target engineering and technical roles
Spotify's H-1B sponsorship activity is concentrated in software engineering, machine learning, and data science. Focusing your application on these specialties gives you the strongest chance of landing a role with a clear sponsorship path.
Apply well before the H-1B cap deadline
Spotify typically files H-1B petitions in the April lottery window. Starting your job search in the fall gives you enough runway to interview, receive an offer, and complete paperwork before USCIS registration opens in March.
Highlight streaming and audio technology expertise
Spotify values domain expertise in music, podcasting, and audio recommendation systems. Candidates who connect their technical skills to Spotify's core product areas stand out in interviews and signal a strong fit for roles requiring specialty occupation sponsorship.
Confirm sponsorship before investing in the process
Not every Spotify role includes H-1B sponsorship. Before applying, verify the position explicitly supports sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and avoid wasting time on roles that won't support your visa.
Understand Spotify's internal immigration support
Spotify works with established immigration counsel to manage H-1B filings. During your offer negotiation, ask HR directly about the company's process, timeline expectations, and whether premium processing is offered to accelerate your petition.
Build a portfolio that demonstrates specialty occupation
H-1B approval depends on the role qualifying as a specialty occupation requiring a specific degree. Spotify hiring managers respond well to candidates whose portfolios clearly demonstrate the technical depth that supports an H-1B petition for that particular position.

Does Spotify sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Spotify sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles across its U.S. offices. Sponsorship is most consistently offered for technical and specialized positions in engineering, data science, and product. Not every open role includes sponsorship, so confirming with the recruiter early in the process is important.
Which roles and departments at Spotify typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Spotify is most common in software engineering, machine learning, data engineering, UX research, and product management. These roles typically meet the specialty occupation requirement because they demand a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a related technical field. Business, marketing, and operations roles are sponsored less frequently.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Spotify?
Once Spotify extends a job offer, their HR and legal team coordinate the H-1B filing with an immigration attorney. You will provide educational credentials, employment history, and personal documentation. Spotify files the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor and then submits the I-129 petition to USCIS during the annual cap filing window.
How do I find H-1B sponsored jobs at Spotify?
Spotify posts open roles on its careers site, but listings rarely specify visa sponsorship availability upfront. Migrate Mate aggregates jobs from verified H-1B sponsors, making it easier to identify Spotify openings where sponsorship is a realistic option without having to read through dozens of listings manually.
What is the typical timeline for H-1B sponsorship at Spotify?
If you receive an offer before the March USCIS registration window, Spotify can file in the April lottery. Standard processing takes three to five months after selection. Premium processing can reduce the adjudication period to a few weeks. Candidates hired after the lottery typically wait until the following April cap season unless a cap-exempt filing option applies.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Spotify?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
