Target technical and engineering roles
Sundt's H-1B sponsorship concentrates in civil, structural, and mechanical engineering, along with construction management. Applying to roles that require a specific technical degree significantly increases the likelihood that the position qualifies for H-1B sponsorship.
Understand Sundt's project-based hiring cycle
Large construction firms like Sundt often hire in waves tied to project awards and contract starts. Monitoring new project announcements in infrastructure and commercial construction can signal when Sundt is actively building out technical teams.
Highlight specialty occupation credentials early
H-1B approval hinges on demonstrating your role is a specialty occupation. In your application, lead with your degree field and how it directly applies to the specific Sundt position rather than listing general construction experience.
Use verified sponsorship data when searching
Not every construction company that has sponsored before will sponsor every role. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your applications on Sundt and similar confirmed H-1B employers.
Engage Sundt's university recruiting pipeline
Sundt actively recruits from engineering and construction management programs. Entry-level candidates who connect through campus recruitment events or internship pipelines often find a more structured path to H-1B sponsorship than cold applications.
Confirm sponsorship willingness before deep-dive applications
Sponsorship policies can vary by business unit or project type at large contractors. Reach out to a Sundt recruiter early to confirm the specific role you are targeting includes H-1B sponsorship before investing significant time in the application.
Sundt Construction H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sundt Construction sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Sundt Construction sponsors H-1B visas. The company has a documented history of filing H-1B petitions for international workers in technical roles across its construction and engineering operations. Sponsorship is most common for positions that clearly meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning the role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific field.
Which roles and departments at Sundt Construction typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Sundt is concentrated in engineering disciplines such as civil, structural, and mechanical engineering, as well as construction management, project controls, and estimating. Roles tied to a specific degree requirement are the strongest candidates for sponsorship. General labor, field supervision, and operations management roles without a defined degree requirement are less likely to qualify.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Sundt Construction?
Once Sundt extends an offer, their HR and legal team initiates the H-1B petition process, which includes filing a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor and then submitting the I-129 petition to USCIS. Your role is to provide educational credentials, employment history, and any supporting documentation your immigration attorney requests. The process is employer-driven, so staying responsive to document requests matters.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Sundt Construction that are open to visa sponsorship?
Sundt posts openings on its careers page, but listings rarely specify visa sponsorship availability upfront. Migrate Mate aggregates verified H-1B sponsor data so you can identify Sundt roles alongside other confirmed construction and engineering sponsors, saving time you would otherwise spend researching sponsorship eligibility company by company.
What timeline should I expect for H-1B sponsorship at Sundt Construction?
The H-1B process at any employer is shaped by the annual lottery, which opens in March for an October 1 start date. If you are selected in the lottery, USCIS standard processing takes several months, though premium processing can reduce the adjudication window to a few weeks. Plan for at least six to nine months between offer acceptance and your authorized start date if you are going through the cap-subject process.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Sundt Construction?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
