Job Roles at Yelp
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Yelp H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target engineering and product roles
Yelp's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in software engineering, machine learning, and product management. Focusing your applications on these core technology functions gives you the strongest chance of landing a role that qualifies for sponsorship.
Apply well before the H-1B lottery deadline
H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 each year for an October start. Yelp needs time to prepare your petition, so securing an offer by late January or February gives both sides enough runway to meet USCIS deadlines comfortably.
Be upfront about your visa status early
Disclosing your need for H-1B sponsorship at the screening stage avoids wasted time. Yelp's recruiting team is familiar with the process for technology roles, and transparency helps them route your application to managers who have sponsored before.
Demonstrate specialty occupation alignment
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations tied to a specific degree field. When applying to Yelp, make sure your resume clearly connects your educational background to the technical requirements of the role you're targeting.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm Yelp's sponsorship history
Before applying, verify that Yelp actively sponsors H-1B visas for the role type you're pursuing. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and avoid companies that only sponsor in theory.
Prepare for a technical interview process
Yelp's hiring process for sponsored technology roles is rigorous, typically involving multiple coding rounds and system design interviews. Strong technical performance signals to hiring managers that the investment required for H-1B sponsorship is worth pursuing for your candidacy.

Does Yelp sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Yelp sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an active sponsorship history concentrated in its technology and software divisions. Roles in software engineering, data science, and product are the most common pathways to H-1B sponsorship at Yelp. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every open position, so confirming eligibility early in the recruitment process is advisable.
Which roles and departments at Yelp typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
Yelp's H-1B sponsorship is primarily associated with technical roles across engineering, machine learning, data science, and product management. Business operations and sales positions are less commonly sponsored. If you're targeting a non-technical role, it's worth asking the recruiter directly whether sponsorship has been offered for that position type previously.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Yelp?
Once you receive and accept an offer, Yelp works with its immigration counsel to prepare your H-1B petition. You'll need to provide educational credentials, employment documents, and passport details. The petition is filed with USCIS, and if selected in the lottery, your H-1B status typically begins October 1. Staying in close contact with your recruiter and HR point of contact keeps the process on track.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at Yelp?
The H-1B process follows a fixed government calendar. Lottery registration opens in March, and if selected, Yelp files your full petition by April 1 for an October 1 start date. The gap between offer and your first day can be six months or longer depending on when you secure the role. Premium processing is available to accelerate USCIS adjudication if Yelp elects to use it.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Yelp as an international candidate?
Start by identifying open roles that align with your technical background, then confirm sponsorship eligibility with the recruiter at first contact. Migrate Mate lists verified H-1B sponsors including Yelp, so you can filter opportunities by companies with a documented sponsorship track record. Tailoring your application to Yelp's core technical competencies improves your chances of advancing through the interview process.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Yelp?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
