Target technical and product roles first
Instructure's sponsorship activity is concentrated in engineering, product, and software development functions. If your background is in software engineering or product management, you're applying into the areas where international candidates have the strongest sponsorship precedent.
Understand which visa types Instructure supports
Instructure has sponsored H-1B, E-3, Green Card, F-1 OPT, and TN visas. If you're an Australian national, the E-3 pathway is worth specifically flagging in your application, it's a faster, lower-friction route that fewer candidates know to request.
Highlight your specialty occupation clearly
Instructure operates in a competitive talent market where visa petitions require demonstrating a specialty occupation. Make sure your resume and cover letter clearly connect your degree field to the specific role, vague applications are harder to sponsor.
Search for open roles on Migrate Mate
Instructure posts roles across distribution and technology functions. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and find Instructure openings alongside other confirmed sponsors in the edtech and enterprise software space.
Engage early about sponsorship in the interview process
Instructure's HR and recruiting teams are familiar with sponsorship processes given their track record. Raising the topic professionally after an initial screening call, rather than at offer stage, gives both sides time to align on the right visa pathway for your situation.
Consider the Green Card pathway as a long-term signal
Instructure has sponsored permanent residency alongside temporary work visas, which signals a willingness to invest in international employees long term. When evaluating the role, ask about the company's PERM and immigrant visa processes during later-stage conversations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Instructure sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Instructure sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an established history of filing H-1B petitions, primarily for technical and software roles that meet the specialty occupation standard. If you're targeting an H-1B at Instructure, focus on roles where your degree field directly aligns with the job requirements, and raise sponsorship early in the recruiting process.
Which visa types does Instructure sponsor?
Instructure sponsors a range of visa types including H-1B, E-3 visa, Green Card (EB-2 and EB-3), F-1 OPT, and TN visas. This broad coverage is a positive signal for international candidates across different nationalities and career stages. Australian citizens in particular have a strong option through the E-3 visa pathway, which Instructure has sponsored previously.
Which roles at Instructure are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Instructure is most common in software engineering, product management, and technical roles where the specialty occupation requirement is straightforward to satisfy. Corporate functions like sales and operations are less frequently sponsored. If your background is in engineering or product within the edtech or enterprise software space, your application is well positioned.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Instructure?
The most reliable way to find Instructure roles that come with confirmed sponsorship potential is through Migrate Mate, which filters job listings by verified sponsorship history. This saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship is listed as possible but rarely granted in practice. Search for Instructure directly on Migrate Mate to see current openings alongside sponsorship context.
How do I approach the sponsorship conversation when applying to Instructure?
Instructure's recruiting team is experienced with sponsorship given the company's track record across multiple visa types. The best approach is to confirm your visa needs professionally after your first screening call, not at the offer stage. Come prepared with clarity on which visa type applies to your situation, whether that's H-1B, E-3, TN, or OPT extension, so the conversation moves efficiently.
