Align your credentials with NEMA standards
Integrated Power Services works on motors, transformers, and switchgear in industrial environments. Certifications or coursework tied to NEMA, IEEE, or NEC standards signal field-ready competence and differentiate you from candidates with purely academic backgrounds.
Target service center locations strategically
IPS operates regional service centers across the U.S., and engineering openings cluster around those facilities. Research which locations post Engineering roles most frequently and focus your applications there to improve your odds of reaching a hiring manager who sponsors.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
Not every Engineering posting at IPS will lead to sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter roles specifically tied to H-1B, OPT, or TN sponsorship so you apply only to positions where the pathway is confirmed, not assumed.
Get your TN documentation ready before interviews
If you're a Canadian or Mexican national, TN classification for engineers requires a USCIS-defined qualifying engineering degree and a job offer letter. Prepare a concise credential summary your employer can reference when drafting the offer letter to avoid delays at the port of entry.
Flag OPT or CPT authorization early in the process
Manufacturing employers like IPS often operate on project-driven hiring timelines. Telling recruiters upfront that you're authorized on OPT or CPT with a clear STEM extension window helps them plan the H-1B sponsorship timeline around your work authorization expiry.
Confirm the employer's H-1B filing calendar
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer in late spring or summer, ask HR directly whether IPS files cap-subject petitions and whether they'll cover premium processing to keep your start date on track.

Find Engineering at Integrated Power Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Integrated Power Services sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Integrated Power Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Engineering roles. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every open position, so confirming directly with the recruiter during initial conversations is the most reliable approach. Roles tied to specialized electrical or mechanical work in their service centers are where sponsorship has historically been most relevant.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Integrated Power Services?
You can browse and apply for Engineering roles at Integrated Power Services through Migrate Mate, which surfaces positions where visa sponsorship is a confirmed part of the hiring profile. When applying, highlight hands-on experience with industrial equipment, rotating machinery, or power distribution systems, as these align directly with IPS's core service lines.
Which visa types are commonly used for Engineering roles at Integrated Power Services?
Integrated Power Services has sponsored H-1B visas and accepted candidates on F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN status for Engineering positions. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican engineers with a qualifying degree. F-1 students on STEM OPT get up to three years of work authorization, which gives IPS time to plan an H-1B filing before your authorization expires.
What qualifications are expected for Engineering roles at IPS?
Most Engineering roles at Integrated Power Services require a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline. Practical experience with industrial motors, transformers, generators, or switchgear is a strong differentiator. Field service or manufacturing environment experience is weighted heavily, since IPS's work is operations-focused rather than research or design-heavy.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap filing process?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in early March each year for an October 1 start date. If you're targeting a role at IPS and currently on OPT, aim to secure an offer by February so the employer can register you in the lottery. If selected, the I-129 petition must be filed by late June. Confirm with IPS HR whether they cover premium processing to reduce approval uncertainty.
