Align Your Credentials to Project Delivery Roles
Jedson's consulting model means hiring managers prioritize engineers who can document project scope, client deliverables, and technical outcomes. Organize your resume and portfolio around completed projects with measurable results, not just job duties.
Confirm TN Eligibility Before Applying
If you're Canadian or Mexican, TN classification for engineers requires your degree to align precisely with the job title on offer. Verify the role description uses qualifying language like 'engineer' rather than a hybrid title that could complicate your classification at the border.
Target Roles With Defined Scope Early
Consulting firms like Jedson open roles around project wins. Browse active Engineering openings on Migrate Mate to identify positions tied to infrastructure or industrial projects, which tend to have clearer specialty occupation definitions and smoother LCA filings with DOL.
Request PERM Timeline Clarity During Negotiations
If you're targeting an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card path, ask the recruiting team directly about their PERM initiation timeline during the offer stage. Some consulting firms delay PERM filings until after a probationary period, which affects your long-term status planning.
Document OPT or CPT Continuity for H-1B Transition
If you're on F-1 OPT with Jedson and approaching your extension deadline, your employment records need to show uninterrupted full-time work in a qualifying engineering role. Gaps or part-time periods can complicate the H-1B petition USCIS reviews for cap-subject filings.
Prepare a Specialty Occupation Justification Early
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for consulting firms closely. Before your employer files, document why your specific engineering role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, using the job description, project scope, and your credentials as supporting evidence.

Does Jedson Engineering sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Jedson Engineering has sponsored employment-based visas for engineering roles, though H-1B sponsorship for consulting firm positions receives heightened scrutiny from USCIS around specialty occupation standards. Your petition will be stronger if the role has a clearly defined technical scope, a degree requirement tied to a specific field, and documentation showing the position goes beyond general project coordination.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Jedson Engineering?
You can browse and apply for Engineering roles at Jedson Engineering through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions open to visa sponsorship candidates. When applying, tailor your application to the project discipline listed in the job posting, whether that's civil, mechanical, process, or another engineering specialty, since Jedson's hiring is typically organized around project type and client sector.
Which visa types are commonly used for Engineering roles at Jedson Engineering?
Jedson Engineering has sponsored F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican engineers in qualifying classifications, and EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for longer-term permanent residency pathways. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree level, and where you are in your career. TN is often the fastest path for eligible candidates already in North America.
What qualifications does Jedson Engineering expect for sponsored Engineering positions?
Most sponsored engineering roles at Jedson require a bachelor's degree in a directly related engineering discipline. For immigrant visa pathways like EB-2 or EB-3, DOL's PERM process will require Jedson to demonstrate your qualifications match the formally advertised job requirements. Practical project experience in consulting or industrial environments strengthens your profile considerably over academic credentials alone.
How do I plan my visa timeline when joining Jedson Engineering as an Engineer?
If you're starting on F-1 OPT, the H-1B cap registration window opens in March each year, with an October 1 start date if selected. That means you have a narrow window to secure a cap-subject petition before OPT expires. For TN holders, status is employer-specific and needs to be re-established when joining Jedson. Confirm filing timelines with the HR or immigration team before accepting an offer.
