Align your credentials to financial AI applications
JPMorganChase prioritizes AI ML Engineers who can connect model development to regulated financial contexts like fraud detection, credit risk, and algorithmic trading. Frame your portfolio projects around production systems, not just research, before applying.
Target roles in established engineering centers
JPMorganChase concentrates AI ML hiring across specific locations including New York, Columbus, and Plano. Applying to postings in these hubs increases your odds of reaching a team with an established sponsorship workflow and dedicated immigration counsel.
Understand the LCA requirement before your start date
Before your H-1B or E-3 can be filed, your employer must certify a Labor Condition Application with the DOL confirming your offered wage meets prevailing wage standards. Budget at least two to four weeks for this step and confirm it is underway after signing your offer.
Search for open roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter AI ML Engineer openings at JPMorganChase by visa type. This lets you focus exclusively on roles that match your sponsorship eligibility instead of sifting through listings that require existing work authorization.
Plan for PERM if permanent residency is your goal
If you are targeting a Green Card through the EB-2 or EB-3 pathway, the PERM labor certification process begins with the employer, not USCIS. Raise your long-term immigration goals with your manager or HR contact within your first year to get on the internal queue early.

Find AI ML Engineer at JPMorganChase JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for AI ML Engineers?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for AI ML Engineers. The company has an active sponsorship program across its engineering functions and works with dedicated immigration counsel to manage filings. If you are subject to the H-1B cap, your petition would be submitted in the April lottery cycle, with employment starting October 1 if selected.
How do I apply for AI ML Engineer jobs at JPMorganChase?
Applications go through JPMorganChase's careers portal. Roles are listed by specific team and location, so filtering by keyword and city helps narrow relevant postings. You can also browse current AI ML Engineer openings at JPMorganChase filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, which surfaces only roles open to sponsored candidates.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase commonly use for AI ML Engineers?
JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for AI ML Engineers, as well as employer-sponsored Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3, and Chilean and Singaporean nationals can apply under the H-1B1, both of which have no lottery and faster timelines than the standard H-1B cap process.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for AI ML Engineer roles?
Most AI ML Engineer postings at JPMorganChase expect a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, statistics, or a related quantitative field. Practical experience with production machine learning systems, proficiency in Python, and familiarity with MLOps tooling are consistently required. Experience in financial services, particularly around risk modeling, fraud detection, or natural language processing for compliance, strengthens your application significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process typically take at JPMorganChase?
Timeline depends on your visa category. E-3 and H-1B1 applications are processed directly at a U.S. consulate and can move within a few weeks of receiving employer documents. H-1B petitions for cap-subject candidates follow USCIS's annual lottery cycle, meaning a gap of up to six months between offer and start date is common. USCIS premium processing, which returns a decision within 15 business days, is available for H-1B petitions.
