Certify Your Medical Physics Credentials Early
Board certification from the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics strengthens your H-1B specialty occupation case. Legacy Health's clinical physics roles require demonstrated competency, so having ABR or ABMP certification documented before you apply removes a common approval hurdle.
Target Legacy Health's Radiation Oncology Openings
Physics openings at Legacy Health cluster around radiation therapy and diagnostic imaging departments. Filtering your search by those clinical areas increases your odds of landing a role that already has an established sponsorship workflow and a hiring manager familiar with the H-1B process.
Confirm E-Verify Enrollment Before Accepting an Offer
Federal contractors and healthcare systems must comply with E-Verify requirements. Confirm Legacy Health's enrollment status directly with HR before your offer letter is finalized, because your work authorization activation timeline depends on it being current.
Align Your OPT Start Date with Legacy Health's Hiring Cycles
F-1 OPT authorization takes 90 days to process through USCIS. If you're finishing a medical physics residency or graduate program, submit your OPT application immediately upon program completion so your work authorization is active when Legacy Health needs you to start.
Request a Written Sponsorship Commitment Before Resigning Current Status
Get Legacy Health's HR team to confirm in writing which visa type they'll file and who handles the petition before you make any status changes. Verbal commitments during recruitment don't bind the employer once you're in the offer negotiation stage.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Verified Physics Openings
Searching broadly across job boards wastes time on roles where sponsorship isn't confirmed. Use Migrate Mate to browse Physics positions at Legacy Health where visa sponsorship has been verified, so you're applying only where your work authorization situation is already accounted for.

Find Physics at Legacy Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Legacy Health sponsor H-1B visas for Physicists?
Yes, Legacy Health sponsors H-1B visas for Physics roles. Medical physics and radiation physics positions qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria because they require at minimum a bachelor's degree in physics or a directly related scientific field. Clinical roles tied to radiation therapy or diagnostic imaging are the most common entry points for H-1B sponsorship within this organization.
How do I apply for Physics jobs at Legacy Health?
Start by browsing open Physics positions through Migrate Mate, which surfaces Legacy Health listings where visa sponsorship is confirmed. Once you identify a role, apply directly through Legacy Health's careers portal. Tailor your application to the specific clinical department, whether radiation oncology, diagnostic imaging, or nuclear medicine, and address your work authorization status clearly in your cover materials so HR can route your application correctly from the start.
Which visa types does Legacy Health use for Physics roles?
Legacy Health sponsors H-1B visas for permanent Physics hires and accommodates F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for students completing medical physics graduate programs or residencies. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican physicists who qualify under the USMCA scientist category. J-1 visas are also used for research or residency-track positions, though J-1 holders should confirm whether a waiver will be required before accepting an offer.
What qualifications does Legacy Health expect for Physics positions?
Most clinical Physics roles at Legacy Health require a master's degree or doctorate in medical physics, health physics, or a closely related field. Board certification or active candidacy through the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics is often expected for clinical positions. Roles in radiation therapy physics specifically look for hands-on experience with treatment planning systems and linear accelerator quality assurance protocols.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Physics hire at Legacy Health?
For H-1B sponsorship, Legacy Health must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting the petition to USCIS, which adds at least two weeks to the front end of the process. Standard USCIS processing runs three to six months, though premium processing cuts that to roughly 15 business days. If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT, the cap-gap rule protects your status through September 30 of the lottery year, which gives you and Legacy Health a clear runway to plan the transition.
