We are seeking an experienced Software Quality Manager to lead and elevate software quality practices across our robotics platforms. In this role, you will champion quality throughout the entire software lifecycle from design and development to deployment and continuous improvement, ensuring our autonomous mobile robots operate reliably and safely in real warehouse environments. As a leader in a fast-paced robotics company, you will build and scale quality processes and teams that support interdisciplinary engineering, robust testing, and best-in-class delivery practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive software quality strategy that aligns with business goals and scaling product needs.
- Establish quality metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to measure software reliability, defect trends, and release readiness.
- Establish quality standards and policies that align with the organization's overall objectives rooted in deep understanding of industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
- Guide software teams in the design and implementation of automated test frameworks spanning unit, integration, regression, and system-level tests.
- Champion continuous testing at all levels of the pipeline, including simulation-based testing for robotics workflows.
- Drive CI/CD quality gates and automated test reporting across distributed software teams.
- Partner with engineering, product management and operations to define quality goals early in the development lifecycle.
- Advocate for testability and reliability in requirements, design reviews, and release planning.
- Facilitate effective communication between product, software, and operations stakeholders on quality risks and mitigation plans.
- Own release quality accountability and sign-offs for major milestones and production site deployments.
- Ensure that the final product meets or exceeds customer expectations by reviewing and understanding customer feedback, incorporating it into the QA process, and championing a customer-centric approach to quality assurance.
- Lead risk assessments, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Ensure dominant heap, performance, stability, and safety risks are measured and mitigated.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing quality engineering team.
- Promote quality best practices, training programs, and continuing education across engineering functions.
- Cultivate a culture of accountability, ownership, and proactive issue resolution.
- Champion continuous improvement by analyzing existing processes, methodologies, and tools to identify areas for enhancement.
- This includes staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving customer expectations.
- Evaluate and lead selection and implementation testing tools and AI-based workflow enhancements that align with the organization's needs and goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in software quality engineering or quality management, ideally in robotic systems, autonomous systems, gaming or embedded software domains.
- Proven experience designing and scaling automated test frameworks and quality infrastructure, including CI/CD-integrated pipelines.
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices (Agile/Scrum), test automation, version control workflows, and build/release management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead quality strategy for complex systems with hardware dependencies (robotics, IoT, embedded systems, etc.).
COMPENSATION
- The expected base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $180,000 annually, based on external market data, plus bonus and equity. Actual offers will depend on factors such as the candidate's experience, education, training, key or critical skills, geographic location, and current market and business conditions.
