Certify Equipment Credentials Before Applying
Biomedical and clinical equipment certifications like CBET or HTM credentials carry real weight at hospital systems. Having these documented and ready to present signals to Maimonides hiring managers that you meet the technical bar without additional vetting delays.
Target Open Roles Tied to Active Departments
Maimonides runs specialized service operations across imaging, biomedical, and facilities. Apply to postings aligned with departments that run high-volume equipment schedules, as those teams face the most consistent staffing pressure and tend to move faster through hiring decisions.
Clarify Your OPT or CPT Authorization Timeline Early
If you're on F-1 OPT, raise your work authorization end date during the offer conversation, not after. Service Technician onboarding at hospital systems involves credentialing steps that can take weeks, and Maimonides needs enough runway to process paperwork before your authorization lapses.
Understand the H-1B Specialty Occupation Framing
Service Technician roles at medical centers can qualify as H-1B specialty occupations when tied to biomedical or clinical engineering functions requiring a relevant bachelor's degree. Confirm with the Maimonides HR team that your specific role description is framed to meet USCIS specialty occupation standards before the petition is filed.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Current Openings
Maimonides posts Service Technician roles across multiple job boards inconsistently. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified current openings at Maimonides filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you're targeting active roles rather than outdated listings that may already be filled.
Plan Around the PERM Timeline If Pursuing Permanent Residency
If Maimonides offers to sponsor an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card, understand that the DOL PERM labor certification process typically runs six months to over a year before USCIS filing even begins. Build that timeline into your long-term planning before accepting an offer contingent on permanent residency sponsorship.

Find Service Technician at Maimonides Medical Center JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Maimonides Medical Center sponsor H-1B visas for Service Technicians?
Yes, Maimonides Medical Center has a documented history of H-1B sponsorship for technical roles, including Service Technicians in biomedical and clinical engineering functions. The role needs to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which typically requires a relevant bachelor's degree tied directly to the job duties. Confirming the role's framing with Maimonides HR before the offer stage is the right move.
How do I apply for Service Technician jobs at Maimonides Medical Center?
You can find and apply for current Service Technician openings at Maimonides Medical Center through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're not wasting time on positions that won't support your immigration status. Applications typically go through Maimonides' internal HR system, and including your work authorization status clearly on your application helps avoid delays later in the process.
Which visa types does Maimonides Medical Center commonly use for Service Technician roles?
Maimonides sponsors a range of visa types for technical positions, including H-1B for specialty occupation roles, F-1 OPT and CPT for students currently enrolled or recently graduated, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical categories, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term hires. The visa type used depends on your nationality, education level, and the specific role's job duties.
What qualifications and experience does Maimonides Medical Center expect for Service Technician positions?
Most Service Technician roles at Maimonides require hands-on experience with biomedical, imaging, or facility equipment common in large hospital environments. A relevant associate's or bachelor's degree in biomedical technology, electronics, or a related field is standard. Industry certifications such as CBET are a strong differentiator. Candidates with direct hospital or healthcare system experience tend to move further in the process than those with only commercial or industrial backgrounds.
How do I time my application to account for visa processing when targeting a Service Technician role at Maimonides?
Timing depends heavily on your current status. F-1 OPT candidates need to account for both the Maimonides credentialing process and any remaining OPT window, so applying three to four months before authorization expires is a practical floor. H-1B transfers from another employer can begin on the filing receipt date. For new H-1B petitions subject to the annual lottery, USCIS registration typically opens in March, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest.
