The Department of Political Science in the Prothro-Yeager College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Midwestern State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer to begin in Fall 2026.
As a faculty member in the Department of Political Science, you will be expected to:
- Teach 12 credit hours/4 courses of American national government and Texas government each semester
- Teach in-person and online courses
- Communicate and meet with students
- Assist with departmental needs
- Maintain a regular presence on campus
Requirements
Required Qualifications Include:
- MA in Political Science
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
- PhD (ABD accepted) in Political Science.
- Commitment to undergraduate education.
- Experience teaching courses in American national government and/or Texas government.
- Experience teaching in-person courses.
- Experience teaching online courses.
Standard Requirements
Requires the ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Must adhere to University’s core values: People-Centered, Community, Integrity, Visionary, and Connections, per the MSU Texas Values Journey. Personal cell phone usage may be required to complete position duties, including multi-function authentication requirements. Regular reliable attendance is required.
