Frame your credentials around enterprise sales cycles
NetApp's Business Development roles focus on complex, multi-stakeholder deals in cloud and data infrastructure. Translate your experience into outcomes tied to pipeline generation, partner ecosystems, or technical solution selling before your first recruiter call.
Target roles aligned with NetApp's partner tiers
NetApp structures much of its Business Development work through hyperscaler and reseller partnerships, particularly with AWS, Microsoft, and Google Cloud. Filtering open roles by alliance or channel focus increases your fit and signals relevant domain knowledge to hiring managers.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active sponsorship-eligible openings
NetApp posts Business Development roles across multiple locations with varying sponsorship availability. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles that match your visa type so you're applying where sponsorship is already on the table.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term eligibility
Green Card sponsorship for Business Development roles typically routes through EB-2 or EB-3, both requiring PERM labor certification through DOL. Processing can span one to three years, so clarify NetApp's standard practice on permanent residency support before accepting an offer.
Prepare for territory and quota discussions as a sponsorship signal
When NetApp assigns a quota-bearing territory to a Business Development hire, it signals intent to retain that person long-term. Asking about quota structure and territory in the final interview stages helps you gauge whether sponsorship commitment is built into the role.

Find Business Development at NetApp JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does NetApp sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development roles?
Yes, NetApp sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development positions. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery, which USCIS runs each spring for an October 1 start date. If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, NetApp can file an H-1B transfer without waiting for the lottery, which makes timing your job search around that window less critical.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at NetApp?
Applications go through NetApp's careers portal, where Business Development roles are listed by region and product line. Tailoring your application to NetApp's cloud and data infrastructure focus, specifically referencing partner ecosystems or enterprise solution selling, gives you a stronger entry point than a generic resume. Migrate Mate also aggregates sponsorship-eligible Business Development openings at NetApp so you can filter by visa type before applying.
Which visa types does NetApp commonly use for Business Development hires?
NetApp sponsors H-1B visas for most international Business Development hires and extends support to F-1 OPT candidates who need a bridge to H-1B status. For longer-term employees, NetApp has supported Green Card sponsorship through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories, both of which require PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor. TN status is also available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles.
What qualifications does NetApp look for in Business Development candidates who need sponsorship?
NetApp's Business Development roles in technology and software typically require a background in enterprise sales, channel partnerships, or cloud solution selling. A bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field is a baseline expectation. Candidates with experience in hyperscaler ecosystems, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and a track record of managing complex sales cycles stand out regardless of visa status.
How do I time my application to NetApp around the H-1B lottery cycle?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each year in March, with a lottery selection and an October 1 start date for approved petitions. If you're on OPT, starting your application process with NetApp between October and January gives recruiters enough lead time to file your registration. If you miss the lottery, cap-exempt options or an H-1B transfer from a previous employer may still apply depending on your situation.
