Verify Your Nursing License Before Applying
Washington State requires RN licensure through the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission before Sea Mar can file any visa petition. If you hold a foreign nursing credential, factor in NCLEX prep and credential evaluation time well before your target start date.
Target Community Health Openings Specifically
Sea Mar operates Federally Qualified Health Centers, which often carry different budget structures and sponsorship appetites than private hospital systems. Filter your search to FQHC and community health postings on Migrate Mate to surface roles where Sea Mar is actively hiring nurses with sponsorship.
Understand How TN Status Applies to Nursing
TN visa eligibility for nurses is narrowly defined by DOL and does not cover Registered Nurses. If you are Canadian or Mexican, confirm with Sea Mar's HR team which visa category they intend to file before accepting an offer, so there are no surprises at the border.
Ask About EB-3 Sponsorship During Offer Negotiations
Sea Mar has sponsored nurses through employment-based Green Card pathways. When an offer is extended, ask directly whether the role includes a PERM labor certification commitment and at what employment milestone that process typically begins.
Align Your Start Date with H-1B Cap Timelines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS only accepts petitions in early April for an October 1 start. Build that window into your offer conversations with Sea Mar so your employment date is realistic and the petition is filed without pressure.
Prepare a Clinical Experience Portfolio for Community Health
Sea Mar prioritizes experience with multilingual and low-income patient populations. Before your interview, document any work in community clinics, public health settings, or with Spanish-speaking patients, as this aligns directly with their mission and strengthens your candidacy.

Find Nursing at Sea Mar Community Health Centers JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sea Mar Community Health Centers sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Yes. Sea Mar Community Health Centers sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying nursing roles. Because H-1B nursing petitions require the position to meet specialty occupation standards, the role typically needs to be at the RN level or above with degree requirements clearly documented. Sea Mar's HR team handles the petition filing through USCIS, and your offer letter should specify the intended visa category.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nursing roles at Sea Mar Community Health Centers?
Sea Mar sponsors nurses through H-1B, EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT pathways. For new graduates on OPT, Sea Mar can serve as your sponsoring employer while you work toward an H-1B petition. The EB-3 pathway is a common route for nurses seeking permanent residence and involves PERM labor certification filed with DOL before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition.
What qualifications or experience does Sea Mar Community Health Centers expect for sponsored Nursing roles?
Sea Mar generally expects active Washington State RN licensure or eligibility to obtain it before your start date. Clinical experience in community health, public health, or patient populations facing language or socioeconomic barriers strengthens your application significantly. Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are frequently listed as preferred qualifications given Sea Mar's service to diverse communities across Washington.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Sea Mar Community Health Centers?
You can browse and apply for Sea Mar nursing roles directly through Migrate Mate, which aggregates sponsoring employer listings and filters by visa type so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to reflect community health experience and language skills. After submitting, expect an initial HR screen followed by a clinical panel interview before any offer discussion begins.
How do I manage visa timing if I receive a nursing offer from Sea Mar Community Health Centers?
The timeline depends on your current status. If you are on F-1 OPT, Sea Mar can file an H-1B petition before your OPT expires. Cap-gap rules may extend your work authorization while USCIS processes the petition. For H-1B cases, premium processing through USCIS is available and reduces adjudication to roughly 15 business days, which can be critical if your OPT expiration is approaching.
