Align your degree to specialty occupation standards
Territory Sales Manager roles in distribution can face scrutiny under specialty occupation reviews. A business, marketing, or supply chain degree strengthens your case. Document how your coursework directly supports the technical and commercial responsibilities of the role.
Target SRS branches in high-demand markets
SRS Distribution posts Territory Sales Manager openings across dozens of regional markets. Applying to branches in areas with active construction growth increases your chances of landing a hiring manager who has gone through sponsorship before and understands the process.
Clarify OPT or TN eligibility before your first interview
If you hold F-1 status, confirm your OPT authorization window covers the expected start date. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles can explore TN status, which avoids the H-1B lottery and can be arranged at the border with an offer letter.
Ask directly about PERM labor certification timelines
SRS has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for this role, which require a PERM filing with the DOL. Ask the recruiter whether the company uses outside immigration counsel and what their standard timeline looks like from offer acceptance to petition filing.
Track open Territory Sales Manager roles using Migrate Mate
SRS Distribution maintains a large and rotating pool of Territory Sales Manager openings. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for SRS roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're only spending time on positions where sponsorship is already confirmed for this function.
Prepare a territory-specific sales track record for your resume
SRS hiring managers for Territory Sales Manager roles look for documented revenue performance and account management experience in building materials or adjacent industries. Quantify your pipeline management and customer acquisition results before submitting your application.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does SRS Distribution sponsor H-1B visas for Territory Sales Managers?
SRS Distribution's primary sponsorship pathways for Territory Sales Manager roles are employment-based Green Card categories (EB-2 and EB-3) rather than H-1B visa. The company also works with F-1 OPT and TN arrangements. If you're currently on H-1B visa and seeking a transfer, it's worth confirming directly with SRS's recruiting team whether they'll accept H-1B transfers for this specific role.
How do I apply for Territory Sales Manager jobs at SRS Distribution?
Applications go through SRS Distribution's careers portal, where Territory Sales Manager openings are listed by region. You can also find sponsorship-confirmed openings through Migrate Mate, which filters SRS roles specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility. Tailoring your application to the geographic market and referencing relevant building materials or distribution sales experience will strengthen your submission significantly.
Which visa types does SRS Distribution commonly use for Territory Sales Manager roles?
SRS Distribution has sponsored Territory Sales Managers through F-1 OPT, TN visas (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. The EB-3 category is frequently used in distribution and wholesale roles where the position meets DOL's skilled worker criteria and the employer is prepared to complete the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does SRS Distribution expect for Territory Sales Manager candidates?
SRS typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, combined with outside sales experience, preferably in building materials, roofing, or distribution. Familiarity with managing contractor or dealer accounts is a strong differentiator. For international candidates pursuing Green Card sponsorship, having a degree that directly maps to the role strengthens the specialty occupation or PERM classification.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Territory Sales Manager at SRS Distribution?
Timelines vary by pathway. F-1 OPT authorization can be in place within a few months of graduation. TN status can be approved at a port of entry on the day of travel with a valid offer letter. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways involving PERM labor certification typically take two to four years from filing to approval, depending on DOL processing times and your country of birth.
