Frame Your Credentials Around Roofing Distribution
SRS Distribution operates in building materials wholesale, so translate your academic background into supply chain, B2B sales, or construction industry terms before applying. A degree in business, marketing, or engineering maps cleanly to their specialty occupation requirements.
Target Branch-Level Openings Not Corporate Only
SRS runs a decentralized branch network across dozens of U.S. markets. Regional and branch-level Sales Business Development roles often move faster through local hiring than corporate postings, and sponsorship decisions frequently sit with regional leadership.
Search Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
Filtering by visa type is critical when targeting SRS Distribution specifically. Use Migrate Mate to surface Sales Business Development openings where SRS has confirmed sponsorship eligibility, so you're not spending time on roles that won't support your status.
Clarify Visa Type Fit Before the Offer Stage
SRS sponsors both employment-based Green Cards and F-1 OPT and CPT, along with TN for eligible candidates. Ask HR during final interview rounds which pathway applies to your role, because PERM-based Green Card timelines differ significantly from OPT authorization periods.
Align Your Start Date With OPT or TN Lead Times
If you're entering on F-1 OPT, USCIS recommends filing the EAD application 90 days before your program end date. For TN, processing at the port of entry is faster but requires your employer to have the offer letter and job description finalized before you travel.
Demonstrate Territory Knowledge in Your Application
SRS evaluates Sales Business Development candidates on their ability to penetrate contractor and dealer networks in specific geographic markets. Researching local roofing contractor density and referencing named regional competitors signals you understand the distribution sales environment they operate in.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does SRS Distribution sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Business Developments?
SRS Distribution's documented sponsorship activity for Sales Business Development roles centers on employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3, along with F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas. H-1B visa sponsorship for sales roles is less common in wholesale distribution broadly, and SRS's track record for this function reflects that pattern. Confirm directly with their HR team during the offer stage which visa types apply to the specific role.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales Business Development roles at SRS Distribution?
The most common pathways for Sales Business Development roles at SRS Distribution are F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business roles, and EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based Green Cards for longer-term sponsorship. TN classification for business development roles requires demonstrating that the position falls within an eligible USMCA occupation category, which your employer's counsel typically confirms during the offer process.
What qualifications and experience does SRS Distribution expect for Sales Business Development roles?
SRS Distribution typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field combined with demonstrated B2B sales or account management experience. Background in building materials, construction, or wholesale distribution is a strong differentiator. Familiarity with contractor-facing sales cycles and the ability to manage a geographic territory are consistently emphasized across their Sales Business Development postings.
How do I apply for Sales Business Development jobs at SRS Distribution?
You can browse open Sales Business Development positions at SRS Distribution through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can identify relevant openings quickly. When applying, tailor your resume to emphasize territory sales experience and any background in distribution or building products. Reach out to regional hiring managers directly where possible, as SRS's decentralized structure means branch leaders often drive hiring decisions for sales roles in their markets.
How do I manage the sponsorship timeline when accepting an offer from SRS Distribution?
Timeline depends on your visa type. F-1 OPT requires USCIS to approve your EAD before you can start, so file 90 days before your program end date and build buffer into your start date negotiation. TN authorization can happen at the port of entry but requires a finalized offer letter first. For EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, expect the PERM labor certification and subsequent USCIS petition process to run over a year from initiation.
