Align your credentials to clinical support roles
Stryker's Customer Specialist positions often require familiarity with surgical environments or hospital workflows. Highlight any clinical exposure, biomedical coursework, or hands-on device training in your resume before you apply, since hiring managers screen for domain fit early.
Target Stryker divisions with active openings
Stryker organizes hiring by product division, including spine, orthopedics, and neurovascular. Customer Specialist roles in higher-volume divisions move faster through the offer stage, so focusing your applications there improves your odds of reaching a sponsorship conversation.
Clarify sponsorship eligibility before your final interview
Stryker sponsors multiple visa categories for this role. Before your final interview round, confirm with the recruiter which visa types their team is currently filing for Customer Specialists, so you are not surprised by category restrictions after receiving an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Customer Specialist openings by sponsorship
Search Stryker's Customer Specialist listings on Migrate Mate to surface only roles where sponsorship has been confirmed. This cuts out the guesswork of cold-applying to postings that may not support your visa category.
Understand how OPT timing interacts with your start date
If you are on F-1 OPT, coordinate your target start date against your OPT expiration and the STEM OPT extension window. USCIS requires your employer to be E-Verify enrolled for STEM OPT, and Stryker meets that requirement, but the timing still needs planning.
Prepare for PERM if a Green Card path is your goal
Customer Specialist roles at Stryker can support EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process with the DOL. Get your educational credentials evaluated early, since the PERM process requires documented equivalency for any foreign degrees.

Does Stryker sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Specialists?
Yes, Stryker sponsors H-1B visas for Customer Specialist roles. The position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given its technical requirements around medical device knowledge and clinical support. Your employer would file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS, so factor that lead time into your planning.
Which visa types are commonly used for Customer Specialist roles at Stryker?
Stryker sponsors a range of visa categories for this role, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and employment-based Green Cards under EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, education, and career stage. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations, while EB-2 and EB-3 require PERM labor certification through the DOL.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Customer Specialist positions at Stryker?
Stryker typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in a life sciences, biomedical, or business-related field. Practical experience in a clinical setting, medical sales, or device support is valued. Strong communication skills matter since the role involves direct engagement with surgical teams. Internship or CPT experience in medical devices or healthcare can substitute for full-time work history for recent graduates.
How do I apply for Customer Specialist jobs at Stryker?
Browse open Customer Specialist positions at Stryker on Migrate Mate, where listings are filtered by visa sponsorship availability so you can apply with confidence. When applying directly, tailor your resume to the specific Stryker division posting the role and reference any clinical or device-related experience prominently. Mention your visa status early in recruiter conversations to avoid wasted steps later in the process.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Customer Specialist role at Stryker?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B standard processing with USCIS can take three to six months, with premium processing available to reduce that to 15 business days. PERM labor certification for a Green Card pathway typically runs 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the immigrant petition. OPT and CPT authorizations are faster but require your university's DSO to initiate the process, so start early.
