Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding School Nurse Jobs at Sun River Health Jobs
Verify Your Nursing License Before Applying
Sun River Health operates across New York state, so you need an active New York RN license before any sponsorship conversation begins. If your license is pending, get a temporary permit through NYSED to avoid delays in the offer stage.
Target School-Based Health Center Openings Directly
Sun River Health runs a large network of school-based health centers, so filter your search specifically for those sites rather than applying broadly. Roles tied to grant-funded or underserved-area programs often carry stronger sponsorship motivation from the employer.
Align Your Resume to EPSDT and Pediatric Standards
School nurse roles at community health organizations like Sun River Health emphasize EPSDT screenings, immunization compliance, and chronic disease management in pediatric populations. Documenting hands-on experience with these protocols strengthens your candidacy before your application reaches HR.
Understand the EB-3 PERM Timeline Before Negotiating
If Sun River Health moves you toward an EB-3 pathway, PERM labor certification alone can take six to eighteen months through DOL. Build that into your planning so a long timeline doesn't catch you off guard during offer negotiations.
Clarify TN Eligibility If You Hold Canadian or Mexican Citizenship
Registered nurses are an explicitly listed TN profession under USMCA, which means a Canadian or Mexican citizen can often begin work far faster than through an H-1B or EB pathway. Raise this directly with Sun River Health's HR team during the offer process.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Sponsorship-Confirmed Openings
Not every Sun River Health job posting signals sponsorship willingness upfront. Use Migrate Mate to browse School Nurse openings filtered by confirmed sponsorship history, so you're targeting roles where immigration support is already part of the hiring process.

Find School Nurse at Sun River Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sun River Health sponsor H-1B visas for School Nurses?
Sun River Health's primary sponsorship activity for School Nurses has been through employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3, rather than H-1B. If you're currently on F-1 OPT or TN status, those pathways are also supported. It's worth asking HR directly about H-1B sponsorship during the offer stage, as practice varies by role and funding source.
Which visa types are commonly used for School Nurse roles at Sun River Health?
Sun River Health has sponsored School Nurses through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which involve PERM labor certification through DOL. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported, making Sun River Health accessible to nursing graduates completing practical training. Canadian and Mexican citizens should ask specifically about TN status, since registered nursing is a listed USMCA profession.
What qualifications and experience does Sun River Health expect for School Nurse roles?
Sun River Health typically looks for an RN license valid in New York, with experience in pediatric or community health settings. Familiarity with EPSDT screenings, immunization schedules, and chronic condition management in school-age populations is a practical advantage. Bilingual candidates, particularly Spanish speakers, are often prioritized given the communities Sun River Health serves.
How do I apply for School Nurse jobs at Sun River Health?
Applications go through Sun River Health's careers portal. To find roles where visa sponsorship is already confirmed, browse Sun River Health's School Nurse openings on Migrate Mate, which filters for sponsorship-active positions. Before applying, make sure your New York RN license is active or in process, as Sun River Health will verify licensure early in screening.
How do I plan my timeline if Sun River Health offers Green Card sponsorship?
If Sun River Health pursues EB-3 sponsorship, expect the DOL PERM labor certification process to take roughly six to eighteen months before USCIS sees the petition. From there, priority date wait times depend on your country of birth. Starting the process while you hold valid work authorization, such as OPT or TN, gives you the most runway without gaps in employment.
