Align your degree to hardware engineering roles
TE Connectivity's Project Engineer roles typically require a degree in electrical, mechanical, or materials engineering. If your credential is in a adjacent field, be prepared to show coursework or work history that maps directly to connector or sensor system development.
Target product lines with active NPI cycles
TE regularly staffs Project Engineers around new product introduction cycles in its Transportation and Industrial Solutions segments. Applying when a product line has open NPI headcount improves your odds of reaching a hiring manager with a live sponsorship need, not a backlog.
Clarify sponsorship scope before your first interview
TE Connectivity sponsors across multiple visa categories, but eligibility varies by site and role level. Ask the recruiter directly whether the specific position supports your visa type so you're not discovering limitations after an offer is extended.
Use OPT strategically if you're pre-H-1B
If you're on F-1 OPT, starting at TE before the H-1B filing window lets the company build the case for your petition using documented work history. STEM OPT extensions give you up to 36 months of authorized employment to bridge the gap if you miss a lottery cycle.
Prepare for a technical portfolio review
TE Connectivity Project Engineer interviews frequently include a review of past project ownership, including design validation, failure analysis, or process qualification work. Having documented examples tied to specific engineering outcomes strengthens both your interview and the supporting evidence for a specialty occupation filing with USCIS.
Browse verified sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Searching for Project Engineer openings that actually include visa sponsorship is faster when the jobs are pre-filtered. Use Migrate Mate to find TE Connectivity roles confirmed to support international candidates, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already on the table.

Find Project Engineer at TE Connectivity JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does TE Connectivity sponsor H-1B visas for Project Engineers?
Yes, TE Connectivity sponsors H-1B visas for Project Engineer roles. The position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards because it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific engineering discipline. Sponsorship availability can vary by site and role level, so confirm with the recruiter early in the process that the specific position you're applying to is eligible.
How do I apply for Project Engineer jobs at TE Connectivity?
You can find and apply for Project Engineer openings at TE Connectivity through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're not wasting time on positions that won't support your immigration status. Once you identify a relevant opening, apply through TE Connectivity's careers portal and flag your sponsorship needs to the recruiter at your first point of contact.
Which visa types does TE Connectivity commonly use for Project Engineers?
TE Connectivity works with several visa categories for Project Engineer hires, including H-1B, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning from university programs, J-1 for exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term sponsorship. The right category depends on your nationality, education, and where you are in your career.
What qualifications does TE Connectivity expect for Project Engineer roles?
Most Project Engineer roles at TE Connectivity require a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or materials engineering. Practical experience in new product introduction, design validation, or manufacturing process ownership is weighted heavily. For visa sponsorship purposes, the degree-to-role alignment matters: USCIS evaluates whether your specific degree supports the duties of the position, so a direct match between your credentials and the job description strengthens the petition.
How do I time my application if I need H-1B sponsorship from TE Connectivity?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, starting at TE before the registration window gives the company time to evaluate your work before committing to sponsorship. STEM OPT extensions provide up to 36 months of work authorization, which can cover one or two lottery cycles. Cap-exempt positions exist but are uncommon in manufacturing and hardware engineering contexts.
