Target academic and clinical departments first
Touro University's sponsorship activity is concentrated in its health sciences, pharmacy, and education programs. Focus your search on faculty, research, and clinical roles within these departments, where international hiring is more established and sponsorship is more likely.
Understand which visa types Touro actively uses
Touro University sponsors H-1B visas for professional and faculty roles, Green Cards for long-term staff, and supports J-1 and F-1 OPT for early-career researchers. Knowing which category fits your background helps you target the right roles from the start.
Apply through university hiring cycles, not just open postings
Academic institutions like Touro often hire on semester-aligned timelines. Applications submitted ahead of spring or fall terms tend to move faster. Monitoring postings consistently and applying early gives you an advantage over candidates who wait for roles to be widely advertised.
Highlight credentials relevant to Touro's professional programs
Touro's graduate and professional focus means faculty and staff roles often require advanced degrees and field-specific licensure. Applicants with credentials in healthcare, law, or education who make their qualifications explicit in their application are better positioned for sponsorship consideration.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for verified sponsorship history
Not every education employer sponsors visas with the same consistency. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving time by focusing only on institutions like Touro that have an active track record of supporting international hires.
Prepare for a longer hiring process at academic institutions
University hiring at Touro, particularly for faculty, typically involves committee review, departmental approval, and compliance steps before an offer is extended. Building extra lead time into your timeline, especially if you're nearing an OPT or status deadline, is important for a smooth process.
