Verify your state CNA certification transfers
Trinity Health operates across multiple states, each with its own CNA certification board. Confirm your credentials are either portable or can be endorsed into the state where you're applying before submitting, since an unverified certification will stall any sponsorship discussion.
Target Trinity Health's long-term care facilities
Trinity Health's skilled nursing and long-term care facilities tend to have the most persistent CNA openings. These sites often face higher turnover and carry more urgency to fill roles, which makes them more receptive to candidates who need visa support.
Get your F-1 OPT authorization before outreach
If you're on F-1 status, have your EAD in hand before contacting Trinity Health recruiters. Healthcare employers hiring CNAs move fast on candidates who can start without a waiting period, and being work-authorized on day one removes a common objection.
Ask HR directly about their EB-3 pathway
EB-3 is the most practical permanent residency route for CNA roles, and Trinity Health has used it for healthcare support staff. Ask the recruiter or HR contact explicitly whether the facility you're targeting has completed PERM labor certifications for this job category before.
Browse open CNA roles on Migrate Mate
Filter for Trinity Health CNA openings on Migrate Mate to see which facilities are actively hiring and which visa types they're currently supporting. Targeting locations with active listings gives you a much stronger starting point than applying broadly across the system.
Time your H-1B filing around USCIS cap deadlines
CNA roles can qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B if the position requires a relevant associate degree or higher. Coordinate with Trinity Health's HR team in the winter months so your employer can register you ahead of the March H-1B cap registration window.

Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for C.N.A.s?
Trinity Health does sponsor H-1B visas, but approval for CNA roles depends on whether the specific position meets USCIS specialty occupation criteria, which typically requires at least an associate degree in a related field. Not every CNA opening qualifies, so you'll need to confirm with the hiring facility's HR team whether the role is being filed as a specialty occupation before accepting an offer.
How do I apply for C.N.A. jobs at Trinity Health?
Applications go through Trinity Health's careers portal, where you can filter by role type and location. For visa sponsorship candidates, it helps to state your work authorization status clearly in your application and follow up directly with the facility's recruiter. You can also browse current Trinity Health CNA openings on Migrate Mate to identify which facilities are actively hiring international candidates.
Which visa types does Trinity Health commonly use for C.N.A. roles?
Trinity Health has used F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, H-1B, and EB-2/EB-3 Green Card pathways for healthcare support staff. For CNAs specifically, F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates, TN is available to qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals, and EB-3 is the most frequently used permanent residency route for direct care roles across the system.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect from C.N.A. candidates?
Trinity Health requires a current, valid CNA certification in the state where you'll be working, completion of a state-approved nurse aide training program, and a clean background check. Most facilities also expect Basic Life Support certification. For sponsored candidates, having clinical experience in a hospital or long-term care setting strengthens your application significantly, since Trinity Health's facilities span both acute and post-acute care environments.
How do I understand the timeline for visa sponsorship at Trinity Health?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. F-1 OPT authorization can take 90 days from USCIS, so apply well before your program end date. H-1B sponsorship is tied to the annual cap cycle, meaning filings typically happen once per year in April with an October 1 start date. EB-3 Green Card cases involving PERM labor certification can take one to three years or more from filing to approval.
