Verify your ARRT credentials before applying
Trinity Health requires ARRT(CT) certification for CT Technologist roles. If your credentials were earned outside the U.S., confirm ARRT's foreign-trained pathway requirements early. Delays in credential verification can stall your offer letter and, by extension, your visa filing timeline.
Target Trinity facilities with radiology expansion activity
Trinity Health operates across multiple states, and hiring volume for CT Technologists is not uniform. Focus applications on facilities with active imaging department growth or new equipment installations, where sponsorship decisions move faster and managers have stronger incentive to support a visa petition.
Clarify sponsorship scope during your offer negotiation
Ask specifically whether Trinity will cover H-1B filing fees and whether they support Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 PERM. Some large health systems sponsor for the role but not for permanent residency. Getting this in writing before you sign protects you from surprises two years in.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open CT Technologist roles
Not every Trinity Health job posting on general boards will flag visa sponsorship availability. Search CT Technologist openings at Trinity Health on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles where sponsorship has been confirmed, so you're not wasting applications on positions that won't support your visa.
Align your OPT start date with Trinity's onboarding cycle
If you're on F-1 OPT, Trinity's hospital onboarding for clinical roles can take four to six weeks including background checks and occupational health clearances. Request your OPT start date to land after credentialing is complete, not before, to avoid burning authorized days before you can legally begin work.
Understand the PERM timeline for EB-3 sponsorship
For CT Technologists pursuing permanent residency through EB-3, Trinity Health's legal team typically initiates PERM after you've established a work history in the role. DOL PERM audits for healthcare occupations are common. Factor at least 18 to 24 months into your planning before an I-140 can be filed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for CT Technologists?
Yes, Trinity Health sponsors H-1B visas for CT Technologist roles. As a large nonprofit health system, Trinity has the HR and legal infrastructure to manage H-1B petitions. You'll need ARRT(CT) certification and a qualifying bachelor's degree or equivalent to meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to imaging technologist roles.
How do I apply for CT Technologist jobs at Trinity Health?
Apply directly through Trinity Health's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which surfaces Trinity CT Technologist openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. Tailor your application to the specific facility and include your ARRT certification status clearly. Trinity's clinical hiring teams screen for licensure and credentialing readiness before moving candidates to the offer stage.
Which visa types does Trinity Health commonly use for CT Technologist roles?
Trinity Health sponsors H-1B and TN visas for CT Technologists in active status, and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing clinical rotations or early-career positions. For long-term permanent residency, Trinity uses EB-2 and EB-3 PERM-based sponsorship, which requires the employer to file with DOL and then USCIS through an I-140 petition. J-1 visa sponsorship is also available in select training contexts.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect for CT Technologist positions?
Trinity Health typically requires ARRT certification in radiography with a CT specialty credential, plus hands-on experience in cross-sectional imaging. Most postings specify at least one year of CT-specific clinical experience, though newly credentialed technologists are sometimes considered for facilities with acute staffing needs. State licensure requirements vary by location, so confirm the requirement for the specific Trinity facility you're targeting.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining Trinity Health as a CT Technologist?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS runs three to six months, with premium processing available for a faster decision. TN for Canadian or Mexican nationals can be processed at the border in a single day with the right documentation. EB-3 PERM-based Green Card sponsorship is a multi-year process. Build your job search timeline around the H-1B cap deadline of April 1 if that pathway applies to you.
