Verify Your Credentials Before Applying
Get your nursing credentials evaluated through a CGFNS International review and secure your NCLEX-RN pass before submitting applications. Trinity Health's clinical units require state licensure, and credential gaps at the offer stage can stall or end sponsorship conversations entirely.
Target Facilities With Ongoing RN Openings
Trinity Health operates dozens of hospitals and health systems under regional brands. Search by specific facility rather than the parent organization to find units with persistent RN vacancies, which signal active workforce needs and a stronger likelihood of sponsorship approval at that site.
Understand Which Visa Fits Your Timeline
Trinity Health sponsors multiple pathways including H-1B, TN for Canadian and Mexican nurses, and Green Card routes through EB-2 and EB-3. The right visa depends on your nationality, current status, and how quickly you need to start. EB-3 is common for internationally trained RNs pursuing permanent residence.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Sponsored RN Roles
Not every Trinity Health RN posting explicitly states visa sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to filter Trinity Health listings by visa type so you're only applying to roles where sponsorship for your specific category is confirmed, saving time on applications that won't convert.
Ask Recruiters About PERM Timing Early
If you're pursuing an EB-3 Green Card through Trinity Health, the PERM labor certification process typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even reviews the I-140 petition. Raise the question of PERM initiation during the offer negotiation stage, not after you've started the role.
Confirm Clinical Specialty Matches the Petition
Trinity Health files visa petitions tied to specific job descriptions. If you're hired as a critical care RN but later move to a different unit, your H-1B or EB-3 petition may need to be refiled. Clarify with HR whether your role transfer policy affects your active petition before accepting an internal move.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Nurses?
Yes, Trinity Health sponsors H-1B visas for Registered Nurses. RN roles qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria because they require at minimum a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for most acute care positions. Sponsorship availability can vary by facility and unit, so confirming directly with the recruiting team for the specific location is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Registered Nurse jobs at Trinity Health?
Apply through Trinity Health's careers portal, where listings are organized by facility and clinical specialty. Before applying, confirm your NCLEX-RN pass status and state licensure eligibility for the location you're targeting. You can also browse sponsored RN openings at Trinity Health through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa type so you can focus on roles that match your immigration category.
Which visa types does Trinity Health commonly use for Registered Nurses?
Trinity Health uses several pathways for internationally trained Registered Nurses. H-1B is common for nurses with a BSN and qualifying specialty occupation status. EB-3 is the most frequently used Green Card route for RNs, particularly those coming through international recruitment pipelines. Canadian and Mexican nurses may qualify for TN visa status, which has no annual cap and can be a faster path to starting work.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect for sponsored Registered Nurse roles?
Most Trinity Health RN positions require a current, unencumbered RN license in the relevant state, a passing NCLEX-RN score, and a BSN for positions in acute or critical care. International nurses should also have a CGFNS credential evaluation completed. Specialty units, including ICU, labor and delivery, and emergency care, typically expect at least one to two years of relevant clinical experience.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Registered Nurse at Trinity Health?
Timeline varies significantly by visa type. An H-1B transfer or cap-exempt filing can move in weeks if Trinity Health qualifies for that route. An EB-3 Green Card through PERM is a multi-year process: PERM certification alone takes 12 to 18 months, followed by I-140 adjudication and visa availability depending on your country of birth. Starting the conversation with HR about your target pathway before or during the offer stage gives you the clearest timeline picture.
