Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Family Medicine Jobs at Trinity Health Jobs
Verify your medical credentials early
ECFMG certification, state medical licensure, and residency completion documents all need to be in order before Trinity Health can initiate any visa filing. Start gathering these at least six months before your target start date.
Target Trinity Health's underserved clinic sites
Family Medicine openings in federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas can support J-1 Conrad 30 waiver sponsorship. Trinity Health operates in rural and urban underserved markets where this pathway is more accessible than at competitive urban sites.
Ask Trinity Health recruiters about H-1B cap exemption
Trinity Health is a nonprofit health system affiliated with hospital entities that may qualify as cap-exempt H-1B employers. If the specific hiring entity qualifies, you could receive H-1B sponsorship outside the annual lottery cycle.
Search Family Medicine openings by market on Migrate Mate
Trinity Health's Family Medicine roles are spread across dozens of markets. Use Migrate Mate to filter open positions by visa type and location so you're applying to sites where sponsorship is active, not guessing from a generic careers page.
Negotiate your employment contract around visa milestones
H-1B approval, LCA certification by DOL, and I-94 issuance each mark a distinct legal authorization point. Your contract start date should align with the earliest confirmed authorization, not the petition filing date, to avoid unauthorized employment exposure.

Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for Family Medicine?
Yes, Trinity Health sponsors H-1B visas for Family Medicine physicians. As a large nonprofit health system, Trinity Health or its affiliated entities may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B status, meaning sponsorship can happen outside the annual lottery. You'll want to confirm which specific legal entity is hiring, since cap-exemption status can vary across Trinity's network.
How do I apply for Family Medicine jobs at Trinity Health?
You can browse and apply to Family Medicine openings at Trinity Health through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type and location. When applying, confirm the position explicitly supports sponsorship for your visa category before investing time in the interview process. Trinity Health recruiters typically handle visa coordination through their in-house immigration team or outside counsel.
Which visa types does Trinity Health commonly use for Family Medicine roles?
Trinity Health sponsors Family Medicine physicians under H-1B, J-1 with Conrad 30 waiver, TN (for Canadian and Mexican physicians), and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. F-1 OPT and CPT are less common for fully licensed physicians but may apply during residency or fellowship transitions depending on your training status.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect for sponsored Family Medicine positions?
Trinity Health expects board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine, along with an active or pending state medical license in the relevant market. ECFMG certification is required for international medical graduates. Clinical experience in outpatient primary care settings is typically expected, and bilingual ability in Spanish is often preferred for roles in underserved community health locations.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Family Medicine offer at Trinity Health?
Timelines depend on your visa type. H-1B standard processing runs three to six months after USCIS receives the petition, though premium processing can reduce adjudication to around 15 business days. J-1 Conrad 30 waiver applications add a separate DOL and USCIS review period. Starting the process immediately after your offer letter is signed is essential to avoid delays in your start date.
