Target Trinity's rehab and acute care openings
Inpatient rehabilitation and acute care units at Trinity Health generate the most consistent OT hiring activity. These settings require specialized clinical skills, which strengthens the specialty occupation argument USCIS evaluates for H-1B petitions.
Clarify state licensure requirements before accepting an offer
Trinity Health operates across more than a dozen states, each with its own OT licensure board. Confirm which state the role is based in and whether your current license transfers or requires a new application before your visa petition can move forward.
Understand the PERM timeline if you need permanent residency
If Trinity Health offers EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process through DOL typically takes one to two years before an I-140 petition can be filed. Factor this into your planning if you're transitioning off OPT or another temporary status.
Find and filter Trinity Health OT roles on Migrate Mate
Browse verified OT openings at Trinity Health filtered by visa type and location on Migrate Mate. This lets you identify which roles are actively hiring internationally before reaching out to recruiters or applying directly through the hospital system.

Find OT at Trinity Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for OTs?
Yes, Trinity Health sponsors H-1B visas for OT positions. OT roles generally qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards because they require a master's degree in occupational therapy as the minimum entry requirement. Your employer-side contacts at Trinity will coordinate with immigration counsel to file the H-1B petition, but you should confirm sponsorship availability with the specific facility you're applying to, as practices can vary across their network.
How do I apply for OT jobs at Trinity Health?
Applications go through Trinity Health's careers portal, where you can search by job title and location. For international candidates, it helps to filter for roles explicitly mentioning visa sponsorship or to use Migrate Mate, which aggregates Trinity Health OT openings by visa type. Before applying, confirm your NBCOT certification is active and that you meet the state licensure requirement for the specific facility.
Which visa types does Trinity Health commonly use for OT roles?
Trinity Health sponsors H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for OT roles. H-1B is the most common route for candidates already in the U.S. on OPT. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose OT degree meets USMCA qualification criteria. Green Card sponsorship through PERM is typically offered after a period of employment.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect for sponsored OT positions?
Trinity Health generally requires a master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program, active NBCOT certification, and a valid state license in the state where the role is located. Some clinical specialties, such as hand therapy or pediatric OT, may require or prefer additional certifications. Prior hospital or rehabilitation setting experience is expected for acute care and inpatient roles specifically.
How long does the visa process take when Trinity Health sponsors an OT?
For H-1B, expect three to six months from petition filing to approval, assuming no requests for evidence from USCIS. Premium processing can reduce USCIS adjudication to around 15 business days. If Trinity Health pursues Green Card sponsorship via PERM, the full process from labor certification through I-140 approval typically takes two to three years. Build that timeline into any status transition planning.
