Verify your credentials meet state requirements
Healthcare Assistant roles at Trinity Health require state-specific certifications like a Certified Nursing Assistant credential. Confirm your credential is valid in the state where the facility is located before applying, since licensure isn't transferable across state lines.
Target facilities with active clinical staffing needs
Trinity Health operates hospitals and long-term care sites across multiple states. Focus applications on facilities in regions with documented nursing shortages, where sponsorship decisions move faster due to persistent hiring pressure rather than one-off vacancies.
Clarify OPT eligibility before your interview
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your degree field qualifies under DOL's healthcare occupational codes. Trinity Health accepts OPT for clinical support roles, but the connection between your program of study and the Healthcare Assistant function must be defensible to USCIS.
Understand the PERM timeline for EB pathways
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 requires Trinity Health to complete PERM labor certification with DOL first. That process alone can take a year or more, so raise long-term sponsorship goals early in the offer negotiation rather than after onboarding.
Use Migrate Mate to find open roles by visa type
Searching Trinity Health's full job board doesn't filter by sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to browse Healthcare Assistant openings at Trinity Health specifically filtered for your visa category, so you're only pursuing roles the organization is actively willing to sponsor.
Confirm H-1B filing timing with your hiring manager
H-1B cap-subject petitions follow USCIS's April 1 filing window tied to an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer outside that window, ask whether Trinity Health will file under cap-exempt status through an affiliated nonprofit or academic medical center.

Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcare Assistants?
Yes, Trinity Health sponsors H-1B visas for Healthcare Assistant roles. Because it operates nonprofit hospitals and affiliated academic medical centers, some Trinity Health facilities qualify as cap-exempt employers, which means they can file H-1B petitions outside the annual lottery window. Confirm cap-exempt status with the specific facility during your offer stage, since it varies by site.
How do I apply for Healthcare Assistant jobs at Trinity Health?
Applications go through Trinity Health's careers portal, where you can search by role title and location. To find openings already filtered for visa sponsorship eligibility, use Migrate Mate, which surfaces Trinity Health's Healthcare Assistant positions alongside sponsorship details so you're not guessing whether a listing is open to international candidates.
Which visa types does Trinity Health commonly use for Healthcare Assistant roles?
Trinity Health has sponsored Healthcare Assistants on H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT, as well as Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying clinical roles. J-1 is typically tied to formal exchange programs. Each visa type has different employer obligations, so clarify which pathway applies to your situation before accepting an offer.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect for Healthcare Assistant positions?
Most Healthcare Assistant roles at Trinity Health require a current Certified Nursing Assistant credential valid in the state of employment, basic life support certification, and some prior experience in a direct patient care setting. Clinical background in long-term care, acute care, or rehabilitation is commonly preferred. Some sites may require additional facility-specific training completed during onboarding.
How do I understand the sponsorship timeline for a Healthcare Assistant role at Trinity Health?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B cap-subject petitions follow a fixed USCIS calendar with an October 1 employment start. TN and F-1 OPT transitions can move faster, sometimes within weeks of an offer. Green Card sponsorship through PERM involves DOL labor certification that can take a year or more before a petition is filed. Raise your visa situation early in the interview process so Trinity Health's HR team can plan accordingly.
