Align your credentials to U.S. standards
If your accounting qualification is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation through a NACES-approved agency before applying. Turner's finance team works within U.S. GAAP frameworks, so demonstrating equivalency upfront removes a common early screening obstacle.
Target construction-specific bookkeeping experience
Turner prioritizes candidates familiar with job cost accounting, AIA billing cycles, and subcontractor payment tracking. Framing your resume around project-based accounting rather than general bookkeeping signals fit for how construction finance actually operates at a firm of Turner's scale.
Identify the right regional office early
Turner operates through regional offices that each carry their own hiring pipelines for finance roles. Use Migrate Mate to filter open Bookkeeper positions by location so you're applying to offices actively hiring, not just the corporate headquarters.
Clarify your visa type before the offer stage
Turner sponsors multiple visa categories for finance roles, including H-1B, E-3, and TN. Know which category applies to your nationality before you reach the offer stage. Raising it proactively, rather than waiting for HR to ask, keeps the process moving and signals you understand the filing requirements.
Understand the LCA requirement in construction payroll contexts
Before Turner can file an H-1B or E-3 petition for you, the DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application confirming prevailing wage compliance. Construction employers face additional scrutiny here because project sites vary by location, so expect the LCA to reference your primary office address, not a jobsite.
Factor H-1B lottery timing into your job search calendar
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, calculate your OPT expiration against that timeline and flag the gap to Turner's HR team early so they can assess cap-exempt alternatives or a bridge arrangement.

Find Bookkeeper at Turner Construction Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Turner Construction Company sponsor H-1B visas for Bookkeepers?
Yes, Turner Construction Company sponsors H-1B visas for Bookkeeper roles. Bookkeeping qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or a closely related field. Turner's finance and HR teams are experienced with the H-1B petition process, including the annual USCIS registration period and LCA filing through the DOL.
How do I apply for Bookkeeper jobs at Turner Construction Company?
Applications go through Turner's careers portal, where Bookkeeper openings are listed by region and division. You can also browse verified Bookkeeper openings at Turner that are open to visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which filters roles specifically for candidates who need work authorization. Tailor your application to highlight job cost accounting and construction finance experience, as those are the most relevant skills Turner screens for at this level.
Which visa types does Turner Construction Company commonly use for Bookkeeper roles?
Turner sponsors several visa categories for Bookkeeper positions depending on the candidate's nationality and current status. H-1B is the most common path for non-Australians and non-Canadians. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and allows two-year renewable periods. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under TN status. Turner also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates in qualifying accounting programs, as well as EB-2 and EB-3 green card pathways for longer-term sponsorship.
What qualifications does Turner Construction Company expect for Bookkeeper positions?
Turner generally expects a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field for Bookkeeper roles, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B and E-3 sponsorship. Practical experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job cost accounting in a construction or project-based environment is a strong differentiator. Familiarity with construction accounting software and U.S. GAAP is expected at most experience levels.
How long does the visa sponsorship process typically take for a Bookkeeper role at Turner?
Timeline depends on the visa category. E-3 and TN cases can move quickly, often within four to eight weeks from offer to approval, since neither requires a lottery. H-1B sponsorship is tied to USCIS's annual cap cycle, with registration in March and employment start dates no earlier than October 1. PERM-based green card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 runs on a separate, longer timeline that Turner's legal team manages. Confirm your visa category and timeline with HR before accepting an offer.
