Tips for Finding Finance Jobs at USI Insurance Services
Align your credentials to insurance finance requirements
USI recruits Finance professionals who understand risk-adjusted financials, premium accounting, and carrier relationships. Tailor your resume to reflect insurance-specific exposure, not just general finance skills, before you apply.
Target roles that match your visa category
E-3 and TN visas require a direct tie between your degree and the offered role. Finance titles like Financial Analyst or Accounting Manager map cleanly, but roles blending sales and finance can complicate specialty occupation or NAFTA category determinations.
Verify employer eligibility through E-Verify enrollment
Before accepting an offer, confirm USI Insurance Services is enrolled in E-Verify, which is required for F-1 OPT and STEM OPT authorization. You can check enrollment status directly through the DHS E-Verify employer search tool.
Surface Finance openings using Migrate Mate
USI posts Finance roles across multiple locations and business lines. Use Migrate Mate to filter current openings by visa type so you only apply to positions where your sponsorship status is already a match.
Ask directly about LCA filing timelines during the offer stage
For H-1B and E-3 processing, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before petitioning USCIS. Confirm whether USI's HR team handles this in-house or through outside counsel, since that affects your start date planning.
Prepare for insurance-specific technical screening early
USI Finance interviews often include questions on insurance accounting standards, loss reserves, and brokerage financials. Demonstrating fluency in these areas during screening reduces friction around sponsorship conversations later in the process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does USI Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for Finance roles?
USI Insurance Services has sponsored work visas for Finance positions, but H-1B visa sponsorship depends on the specific role and business need at the time of hiring. Finance titles like Financial Analyst and Accounting Manager generally meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS requires, meaning a bachelor's degree in a directly related field is a baseline expectation for any H-1B petition.
How do I apply for Finance jobs at USI Insurance Services?
You can find Finance openings at USI Insurance Services through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters jobs by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles where your status is a fit before applying. When you apply, be explicit about your visa status in your cover materials. USI operates across many regional offices, so specifying your preferred location helps route your application correctly.
Which visa types are most commonly used for Finance roles at USI Insurance Services?
USI Insurance Services has sponsored E-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for Finance candidates. E-3 is available to Australian citizens and suits long-term Finance hires well given its renewable structure. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying categories. F-1 OPT and CPT are practical entry points for recent graduates but require USCIS-authorized employment tied to your program.
What qualifications does USI Insurance Services expect for Finance roles?
USI Finance roles typically require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a closely related field. Insurance-specific knowledge, including familiarity with premium accounting, loss ratios, or brokerage operations, strengthens your candidacy significantly. For senior positions, professional credentials such as CPA or CFA and prior experience with an insurance carrier, MGA, or brokerage are common expectations.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing a sponsored Finance role at USI Insurance Services?
Timeline depends on your visa category. E-3 and TN can move relatively quickly once an offer is in place, since both allow consular processing without the multi-month USCIS petition queue that H-1B requires. For F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT start date allows enough buffer before your authorized employment period expires. The DOL must certify the Labor Condition Application before any petition is filed, which typically adds two to four weeks to the process.
