Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
For E-3 or H-1B sponsorship, your degree must directly relate to the consulting work USI will hire you for. A general business degree alone may not satisfy the specialty occupation threshold, so document how your field-specific coursework applies to insurance consulting.
Target USI's regional office hiring cycles
USI operates through a distributed branch model, so hiring decisions often happen at the regional level rather than corporate. Research which offices have open Professional Services Consultant roles and tailor your outreach to those local hiring managers directly.
Clarify sponsorship scope before the offer stage
USI has sponsored multiple visa categories for this role type. During late-stage interviews, ask directly which visa types their legal team supports, whether they use outside immigration counsel, and what their typical timeline looks like from offer to filing.
Use Migrate Mate to identify active openings quickly
Search Migrate Mate for Professional Services Consultant positions at USI Insurance Services filtered by visa sponsorship. This lets you prioritize applications to roles where sponsorship is explicitly on the table rather than spending time on positions that won't support your status.
Prepare an insurance-specific portfolio before interviews
USI consultants are expected to manage client relationships and complex coverage programs from day one. Document specific accounts, client outcomes, or policy structures you've worked on. Concrete examples signal you can generate value quickly, which strengthens a sponsorship business case.
Understand the Labor Condition Application timeline for your filing
Once USI extends a formal offer, your employer must file an LCA with DOL before submitting the visa petition to USCIS. This step adds time to the process, so factor it into your start date negotiation to avoid gaps in your authorized work status.

Find Professional Services Consultant at USI Insurance Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does USI Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for Professional Services Consultants?
USI Insurance Services has sponsored work visas for Professional Services Consultants, but their documented sponsorship history for this role skews toward categories like E-3 and F-1 OPT rather than H-1B. That said, H-1B sponsorship is not off the table. The best approach is to confirm directly with USI's HR or legal team during the offer stage, since sponsorship decisions are often made case-by-case.
How do I apply for Professional Services Consultant jobs at USI Insurance Services?
Applications go through USI's careers portal, where open Professional Services Consultant positions are listed by region. You can also find sponsorship-confirmed openings on Migrate Mate, which filters USI roles by visa type so you can prioritize positions where sponsorship is already expected. Tailor your resume to emphasize insurance advisory experience and client-facing outcomes, since USI's hiring managers weight those heavily for this function.
Which visa types are commonly used for Professional Services Consultant roles at USI Insurance Services?
USI has sponsored visa categories including E-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 for roles in this function. E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and is often the smoothest path given its lack of a lottery. TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals working in qualifying professional categories. F-1 OPT and CPT are typically bridge options used by recent graduates while a longer-term petition is in progress.
What qualifications and experience does USI Insurance Services expect for Professional Services Consultants?
USI typically looks for candidates with a degree in a field relevant to the consulting work, such as finance, risk management, business, or a related discipline, alongside direct experience in insurance account management or client advisory. For visa sponsorship purposes, the degree-to-role connection matters beyond just having a bachelor's, because USCIS scrutinizes whether the position qualifies as a specialty occupation. Prior experience with commercial lines, employee benefits, or risk analysis strengthens both your candidacy and the sponsorship petition.
How does the visa sponsorship process typically unfold once USI Insurance Services extends an offer?
After a formal offer, USI's legal team or outside immigration counsel initiates the visa process, which begins with a Labor Condition Application filed with DOL before any petition reaches USCIS. For E-3 applicants, the process moves relatively quickly since there is no lottery and you apply directly at a U.S. consulate in Australia. For other categories, build in additional time for petition preparation and USCIS processing before your expected start date.
