Frame your credentials around critical infrastructure
Vertiv's Operations roles support data center power and cooling manufacturing. Tailor your resume to highlight experience with high-reliability production environments, quality management systems, or supply chain functions tied to industrial or electronics manufacturing.
Target roles that align with TN eligibility
Canadian and Mexican nationals in engineering or management roles may qualify for TN status without waiting on PERM. If your Operations background sits in industrial engineering or production management, confirm your occupation maps to a DOL-recognized TN category before applying.
Raise sponsorship early in your conversations
Vertiv's hiring process for Operations roles moves through multiple interview rounds. Ask directly about sponsorship support during your recruiter screen rather than after an offer, so both sides can align on timeline and visa type before reaching the final stage.
Understand the PERM timeline for EB-2 or EB-3
If Vertiv moves forward with an EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process through DOL typically adds six to twelve months before USCIS can adjudicate your immigrant petition. Build that window into your employment planning, especially if you're transitioning off OPT.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Operations roles
Operations openings at Vertiv span multiple sites and functions and don't always use consistent job titles. Use Migrate Mate to filter Vertiv's current Operations listings by visa type and location so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare your OPT documentation before onboarding begins
If you're joining on F-1 OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility before your start date. Vertiv is an E-Verify employer, which is required for STEM OPT authorization. Any gap between DSO authorization and your employment start date can create compliance issues.

Does Vertiv sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Vertiv's primary sponsorship activity in Operations has been through employment-based Green Card pathways, particularly EB-2 and EB-3, along with F-1 OPT and TN. H-1B sponsorship is more common in engineering and technical functions. If you're targeting Operations specifically, confirm the role's eligibility for H-1B with the recruiter, as sponsorship decisions are made at the business unit level.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Vertiv?
Applications go through Vertiv's careers portal. Roles span manufacturing, supply chain, facilities, and quality functions across multiple U.S. sites. For international candidates, Migrate Mate filters Vertiv's Operations openings by visa sponsorship type, making it easier to identify which postings are relevant to your status before you apply.
Which visa types are commonly used for Operations roles at Vertiv?
Vertiv has sponsored F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Cards (EB-2 and EB-3) for Operations professionals. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupational categories. EB-3 is frequently used for production and operations management roles where the position requires a bachelor's degree and goes through PERM labor certification with DOL.
What qualifications does Vertiv expect for sponsored Operations positions?
Most Operations roles at Vertiv require a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, supply chain, operations management, or a related field. For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, the position must demonstrably require a degree in a specific field, which affects how the job description is written for PERM. Experience with Lean manufacturing, ERP systems, or production planning in an industrial or electronics environment strengthens your profile significantly.
How long does the sponsorship process take for an Operations role at Vertiv?
Timeline depends on visa type. TN can be obtained at a port of entry for eligible candidates. F-1 OPT authorization takes around 90 days through your DSO. EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship involving PERM can take 18 months or more from labor certification through USCIS approval. Starting the process before your current status expires is essential, especially if you're approaching the end of an OPT period.
