Align your credentials to Vertiv's manufacturing focus
Vertiv's manufacturing work centers on power and thermal management systems, so degrees or certifications in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering carry more weight than general manufacturing backgrounds. Confirm your credentials translate clearly to their product lines before applying.
Target roles matching your current visa category
Vertiv sponsors both F-1 OPT and TN in addition to longer-term pathways. If you're on OPT, prioritize roles with a clear STEM extension eligibility, since most engineering-adjacent manufacturing positions at industrial equipment companies qualify for the 24-month STEM OPT extension.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open manufacturing roles
Searching across general job boards makes it hard to confirm sponsorship availability. Use Migrate Mate to browse Vertiv's current manufacturing openings filtered by visa type, so you're only applying to positions where sponsorship aligns with your situation.
Prepare for a multi-stage PERM timeline
If your role qualifies for EB-3 sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process through DOL requires your employer to document recruitment efforts before filing. Understand this can add significant time before an I-140 petition reaches USCIS, so negotiate start dates and internal transfers accordingly.
Confirm TN eligibility for your specific manufacturing role
TN status covers engineers and specific technical professionals under USMCA, but job titles in manufacturing can vary enough to create eligibility questions. Verify your offered title and duties map cleanly to a qualifying TN category before your employer initiates the letter.
Raise sponsorship early in the offer conversation
Manufacturing hiring at companies like Vertiv often moves through operations and HR teams that handle immigration separately from technical recruiters. Confirming sponsorship willingness before a technical interview loop saves time and surfaces the right internal contacts before you're deep in the process.

Does Vertiv sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing roles?
Vertiv's primary sponsorship activity for Manufacturing roles skews toward EB-2, EB-3, and F-1 OPT rather than H-1B. That said, H-1B sponsorship depends on role classification and headcount needs in a given year. If your role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, it's worth raising directly with the recruiter during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Manufacturing jobs at Vertiv?
Applications go through Vertiv's careers portal, but finding roles that explicitly accommodate visa sponsorship requires filtering carefully. Migrate Mate lists Vertiv's open Manufacturing positions and flags sponsorship compatibility by visa type, which saves significant time compared to screening individual job postings manually. Tailor your resume to Vertiv's power and thermal management product lines to improve your chances.
Which visa types are commonly used for Manufacturing roles at Vertiv?
Vertiv's Manufacturing sponsorship activity covers F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates in engineering roles, while TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical positions. Longer-term sponsorship typically follows a period of employment before a PERM-based Green Card process begins.
What qualifications does Vertiv expect for sponsored Manufacturing positions?
Most sponsored Manufacturing roles at Vertiv require a degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or systems engineering, aligned with their focus on power conversion and thermal management equipment. Hands-on experience with production systems, quality processes, or supply chain operations in industrial or electronics manufacturing environments strengthens your profile considerably over academic credentials alone.
How do I know if my OPT timeline fits Vertiv's hiring process?
Vertiv's Manufacturing hiring cycles can take several weeks from application to offer. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorized period covers your expected start date plus buffer time. For STEM OPT extension, file with USCIS at least 90 days before your current OPT expires and verify your role qualifies under your STEM-designated degree field.
