About Voyant Photonics
Voyant Photonics is redefining machine perception with compact, high-performance LiDAR devices that fit in the palm of your hand. Leveraging cutting-edge silicon photonic chips, our sensors deliver unparalleled accuracy in range, velocity, and reflectivity, at a fraction of the cost of traditional LiDAR systems. By transforming high-precision sensing into an accessible technology, we are enabling new applications in robotics, autonomous systems, industrial automation, and beyond. At Voyant, we are not just building products, we are advancing an industry. Our breakthrough technology bridges the gap between research and real-world deployment, making high-performance LiDAR scalable and commercially viable.
The Opportunity
Voyant Photonics is seeking an Intern to join our Manufacturing Operations Program Management team for 4 months, with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role. The primary goal of this role is to drive cross-functional alignment and execution of hardware programs from Concept through Mass Production (MP) and End of Life (EOL). This execution-focused internship is designed for a high-potential professional seeking hands-on ownership across the full product lifecycle, including development builds, production ramp, sustaining operations, and lifecycle transitions. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, and Contract Manufacturers to ensure schedule alignment, material readiness, and operational excellence. This is an on-site role in New York City with strong visibility to leadership and meaningful ownership, from early development builds through sustaining production. You will participate in global meetings, support international suppliers and cross-functional teams across time zones, and may travel up to <10% domestically and internationally, primarily for supplier visits and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs). You will be trained to manage program progress from development builds through production and EOL transitions, identify risks early, escalate appropriately, and develop clear mitigation and contingency plans. You will work with cross-functional teams to remain aligned on milestones and deliverables. You will also learn to present concise, data-driven program updates to leadership.
Responsibilities
- Own program execution from Concept through Mass Production (MP) and End of Life (EOL).
- Track build readiness across materials, documentation, test infrastructure, logistics, and customer fulfillment.
- Coordinate with Engineering on BOM releases, ECOs, and configuration control.
- Partner with Supply Chain to monitor lead times, component availability, and supplier risks.
- Support production ramp readiness and sustaining operations.
- Lead lifecycle planning activities, including last-time buys and EOL transitions.
- Facilitate weekly cross-functional meetings and maintain action/risk trackers.
- Monitor program performance metrics including schedule, cost, yield, and quality.
- Build and standardize processes, documentation, and templates to improve execution discipline and enable scalable growth.
- Prepare clear executive-ready status updates, presentations, and risk summaries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
- 0–3 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, consulting, or program coordination, including internships
- Comfortable collaborating across technical teams
- Extracurricular programs or coursework in Operations, Strategy, or Technology Management a plus
Preferred Qualifications or Experiences:
- Ownership of operations program schedules and master build plans
- Any Experience developing build readiness dashboards and risk management tools
- Skilled in managing structured risk registers with mitigation tracking
- Ability to leverage AI, digital tools, and automation to improve reporting efficiency
- Strong communication skills and experience collaborating cross-functionally
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments, executing with speed and clarity
- Familiarity with tools such as Confluence, Jira, Smartsheet, NetSuite, Arena, or similar

Job Roles at Voyant Photonics Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Voyant Photonics Visa Sponsorship USA
Target technical and engineering roles first
Voyant Photonics operates in a highly specialized technology space where deep technical expertise is essential. Focus your application on roles where your engineering or research background directly maps to photonics, optics, or semiconductor work, these are the positions most likely to warrant sponsorship.
Lead with H-1B eligibility in your outreach
Since Voyant Photonics has sponsored H-1B visas, make your eligibility clear early in any recruiter conversation. Framing yourself as H-1B-ready, with an understanding of the petition timeline, reduces friction and signals you've done your homework.
Align your application with the H-1B lottery calendar
H-1B registrations open in March for an October 1 start date. If you're targeting Voyant Photonics, aim to have an offer in hand by February so the company has adequate time to file your registration before the deadline.
Research open roles through verified sponsorship platforms
Not every job posting discloses visa sponsorship upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, search for Voyant Photonics there to find current openings and confirm their active sponsorship status before applying.
Highlight niche expertise that's hard to source domestically
Boutique technology companies like Voyant Photonics often sponsor visas when they can't fill a highly specialized role locally. Emphasize rare skills, advanced photonics design, silicon photonics integration, or LiDAR systems experience, to strengthen the case for sponsorship.

Does Voyant Photonics sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Voyant Photonics sponsors H-1B visas. While the company is not among the highest-volume sponsors in its sector, it has an active track record with the H-1B program. Sponsorship is most common for specialized technical roles where the required expertise is difficult to source from the domestic labor market alone.
What visa types does Voyant Photonics sponsor?
Voyant Photonics sponsors several visa categories including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1. This range suggests the company is open to hiring international talent at multiple career stages, from students on curricular practical training through to experienced professionals requiring H-1B sponsorship.
Which roles at Voyant Photonics are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Given Voyant Photonics's focus on photonics technology, roles in hardware engineering, optical systems design, research and development, and software engineering are the most natural candidates for sponsorship. Positions requiring deep domain expertise in photonics or silicon photonics are particularly well-positioned, as these skills are genuinely scarce in the U.S. talent pool.
How do I find open jobs at Voyant Photonics that offer visa sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to search for Voyant Photonics directly on Migrate Mate, which aggregates job listings from verified sponsoring employers and lets you filter by visa type and company. This saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship is unlikely. You can also check Voyant Photonics's own careers page and confirm sponsorship availability early in the recruiter screening call.
How do I approach the application timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at Voyant Photonics?
The H-1B process runs on a strict annual calendar, USCIS opens registration in March, and approved petitions take effect on October 1. To align with this, aim to receive an offer from Voyant Photonics by January or February. This gives HR and legal counsel enough time to prepare and submit your registration before the March deadline, avoiding a full year's delay.
