Frame your credentials around multi-visa HR experience
Consulting firms like Westwood manage employees across H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and J-1 categories simultaneously. Tailor your resume to highlight any experience coordinating visa processes, I-9 compliance, or onboarding foreign nationals, not just general HR administration.
Target HR roles tied to workforce compliance functions
Professional services firms often need HR specialists who understand E-Verify requirements and DOL compliance for sponsored employees. Roles focused on HR operations or talent compliance are more likely to support sponsorship than generalist or business partner positions.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open HR positions by sponsorship history
Not every HR posting at a consulting firm will explicitly advertise sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to identify which Westwood Human Resources roles have active openings and a demonstrated pattern of visa support before you invest time applying.
Clarify your OPT or grace period timeline upfront
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your authorization end date before your first interview. Westwood's HR team manages sponsor timelines internally, and knowing your STEM OPT eligibility or the 60-day grace period window helps them assess whether filing fits their hiring schedule.
Ask specifically about the PERM and EB sponsorship process
Westwood sponsors both H-1B and EB-2/EB-3 categories for HR professionals. During offer negotiations, ask whether the role is eligible for PERM-based green card sponsorship and what the typical timeline looks like from hire date to I-140 filing.
Align your interview narrative to consulting HR demands
Westwood's HR function supports a professional services model where client delivery and workforce planning intersect. Demonstrate experience managing high-volume onboarding, compliance across distributed teams, or HRIS systems used in consulting environments to stand out against candidates with only corporate HR backgrounds.

Find Human Resources at Westwood Professional Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Westwood Professional Services sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources?
Yes, Westwood Professional Services sponsors H-1B visas for Human Resources roles. As a consulting and professional services firm managing a workforce that includes foreign national employees across multiple visa categories, HR functions are operationally tied to visa administration. Sponsorship eligibility depends on the specific role, your qualifications, and timing relative to the H-1B cap and lottery cycle administered by USCIS.
Which visa types does Westwood Professional Services commonly use for Human Resources roles?
Westwood Professional Services sponsors several visa categories for HR professionals, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and EB-2/EB-3 immigrant visas. For entry-level or early-career HR hires, F-1 OPT and CPT are common starting points. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying HR specialty occupations. Longer-term employment may lead to H-1B sponsorship and eventually PERM-based green card filings through EB-2 or EB-3.
What qualifications does Westwood Professional Services expect for Human Resources positions?
Westwood typically looks for HR candidates with a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a closely related field. For H-1B eligibility, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning a specific degree is required rather than preferred. Consulting sector HR roles often prioritize experience with compliance, HRIS platforms, onboarding at scale, or supporting a workforce that includes visa-sponsored employees.
How do I apply for Human Resources jobs at Westwood Professional Services?
You can find and apply for Human Resources openings at Westwood Professional Services through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles at companies with a verified sponsorship history. Review the job description carefully to confirm the position supports the visa category you need before applying. During the process, be prepared to share your current visa status, authorization end date, and any STEM OPT extension eligibility so Westwood's HR team can assess sponsorship feasibility alongside your candidacy.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Human Resources role at Westwood Professional Services?
Timeline depends on the visa category. F-1 OPT authorization is already in place before your start date. H-1B sponsorship requires USCIS lottery selection in April, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest, so timing your offer accordingly is critical. EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM involves DOL labor market testing before USCIS filing, a process that typically spans one to three years from initiation to I-140 approval.
