PURVIS is looking for a Configuration Management candidate, who is a detailed-drive individual, who thrives in a structured, fast-paced defense environment and takes price in supporting mission-critical undersea warfare programs. Candidate will bring bring deep expertise in configuration management, strong analytical and documentation skills, and a disciplined approach to maintaining technical accuracy across complex submarine electromagnetic and electro‑optical systems.
Candidate values integrity, accountability, and collaboration, working seamlessly with engineering teams while independently managing recurring tasks and strict timelines. They communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels, follow established processes with precision, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence that aligns with our client's standards and the broader Department of Defense mission.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include:
- Identify and document baseline functions and physical characteristics of new submarine electromagnetic and electro-optical systems.
- Ensure unique form, fit, function, and interchangeability requirements for all identified items.
- Track and document Engineering Change Documents (ECDs) related to functional, allocated, and product baselines.
- Maintain approved functional, allocated, and product baselines for equipment manufacturing, overhaul, and repair.
- Review production drawings and provide detailed comments.
- Deliver annual baseline status and release reports to impacted sites.
- Manage and route all ECDs via iPDM to propose and incorporate changes to hardware, software, and documentation configuration items.
- Perform engineering change control by identifying technical deficiencies, evaluating proposed design changes, and recommending updates to technical data packages (TDPs).
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback and implement approved changes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in configuration management within defense or submarine systems.
- Familiarity with Haystack, One‑Touch, Configuration Data Managers Database–Open Architecture (CDMD‑OA), and Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N‑ERP).
- Strong knowledge of configuration identification, change control, status accounting, and auditing processes.
- Experience with iPDM systems, AutoCAD, and configuration management tools.
- Working knowledge of Model‑Based Product Support (MBPS) and eXtended Range Integrated Communications (XRIC).
- Ability to work independently and manage recurring tasks with strict adherence to timelines.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures, meet deadlines, and multi‑task.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of customer organization.
