Corporate Development Manager Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a corporate development manager in Rhode Island?
Most corporate development managers in Rhode Island enter through investment banking, management consulting, or corporate finance roles before moving into M&A or strategy functions. Rhode Island does not require a state-issued license for this role, but an MBA from a program such as Brown University's or Providence College's business school is a common differentiator. Candidates who build deal experience at mid-market firms in Providence often move into in-house corporate development roles at the state's anchor employers.
Which companies hire corporate development managers in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island corporate development manager roles are posted by CVS Health, Epic, and Jobot and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of insurance, healthcare, and defense-adjacent manufacturers means many openings sit within corporate strategy and business development functions at large, long-established organizations.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most corporate development manager jobs?
Providence, Rhode Island, and Cumberland have the most corporate development manager openings in Rhode Island. Providence dominates because it is home to the state's largest financial services, healthcare, and professional services employers, while Woonsocket and East Providence reflect the headquarters presence of major corporations like CVS Health and several regional financial institutions that maintain active strategy and development teams.
Are there remote corporate development manager jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 40% of corporate development manager openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting that much of the work involves financial modeling, research, and stakeholder calls that travel well outside the office. Deal execution phases and board-level presentations typically require in-person presence, making hybrid arrangements the most common arrangement rather than fully remote.
How can I get hired as a corporate development manager in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a financial analyst or business development analyst role at one of Rhode Island's large anchor employers, including CVS Health, Amica Mutual, or Textron, where internal mobility into corporate development teams is well established. Rotational programs at major Providence-area financial institutions also provide exposure to M&A support work. An MBA or CFA candidacy strengthens a profile significantly, and candidates who build a deal-support portfolio through financial modeling projects or graduate consulting practicums at Brown or Providence College stand out.
